The weather hasn’t been great during my week in the states but this didn’t stop me venturing around looking for new spots. I stopped over to Carpinteria which is a small ocean city in Santa Barbara. I did a bit of research but leaving and apparently this place has a nice sunset with a nice beach. It is popular during summer but looking at the weather when I visited, I don’t expect many people on the beach and certainly won’t be able to see the sun setting as there are clouds everywhere.
When I arrived, there were many cars parked on the side. In front of me was a nice beach with a nice view though with the overcast, this place didn’t show up as nice as some of the photos online. To my surprise, there were lots of people here fishing. Not just one or two people, they lined up the shore which is why there were so many cars parked. It was a cold day so people were prepared with warm clothes ready for a long day of fishing.
The waves were pretty strong and could see some success with fishing for some. Maybe an overcast day was perfect for their fishing mission. A little further down I could see train tracks so I believe trains come through here overlooking the ocean. You are able to go to Carpinteria via Highway 101 but I read online to check if there are any road works as there seems to be some often.
