The Temples of Indonesia

in #travel6 years ago

Indonesia has a very rich culture, this is evidenced by the many historical relics of the past. Temple temples that are still scattered in almost all corners of Indonesia until now still stand majestically and become silent witnesses of Indonesian masterpieces that boast in the eyes of the world

But photographing the temple was not easy, because the magnificent and the magnitude of the architecture made it a challenge in photographing temple details and architecture. This mystical and history-filled temple feel is best taken at the time of sunrise and sunset, where the "Golden Hours" light that falls is not flat and can capture dramatic light because of the contrasting dark and light contrasts that make the temple's image sacred.

Photographing the magnificent temple is not enough, like taking a picture of Borobudur Temple for example. I have to come many times, in different seasons, during sunrise and sunset. nor photographed it from Punthuk Setumbu hill which all of the efforts were only to get a magical temple photo.

Borobudur Temple which is the largest temple in the world has been the 7 wonders of the world and is currently a world heritage site recognized by UNESCO. The temple which has 504 statues and 72 stupas is very magnificent, this huge architecture makes it difficult for photographers who want to capture the Borobudur temple. So many people hunt photos of Borobudur in the morning from the hillside around Borobudur temple so as not to distort. I photographed this Borobudur temple using a drone, taking pictures that were not too high or not low made Borobudur's photo very beautiful, because in this photo it combined the natural landscape and the magnificence of Borobudur temple in one photo.

This relief is an illustration of the story of the life of the Buddha, the relief that I photographed from Borobudur Temple is carved from volcanic beams and there are 1460 reliefs on the temple wall with a length of about 2 meters. I took the gradation of color and contrast in the afternoon, so that the warm colors of the evening made the details and relief photos look very good.

A variety of equipment that I use to photograph the temple so that it can take maximum photos, both from wide and fixed lenses to get the details of the temple relief. The use of drones at this time is also very helpful in photographing temples from various points of view and angles, because photographing a temple using a wide lens that is too extreme will distort the building of the temple, so photographing using a drone is one solution for photographing straight parallel temples and not making it distortion.

Prambanan Temple is a building that shows the triumph of Hinduism in the land of Java, which was built in the 10th century. This temple is located not far from the center of Yogyakarta, the best time to capture the Prambanan Temple just before sunset. Because the light that shone on this temple looked reddish, I took this photo outside the temple area and framed it with trees. Because if you take it in the area of the temple too many people, to be able to get a different angle you must want to explore the area around this Prambanan Temple.

Muara Takus Temple in Riau Province may not be popular in Indonesia. Because the shape of Muara Takus Temple is not like the temple temples in Java in general, this Muara Takus Temple is a historical heritage site consisting of several hundreds of years old temples. The location of the temple is quite far from the city of Pekanbaru because it is taken 3 to 4 hours by road, the right moment to photograph this temple is the morning. Because the sun rays when it illuminates this temple so it does not make a backlight photo, if we come during the day it will most likely not get a blue sky. You just have to prepare a wide lens and take photos of this temple satisfied, if you are lucky you can meet a monk who is worshiping here.

Boko Temple is one of my favorite places to get magical and mystical sunset photos, the location of the Boko temple on this hill usually always offers stunning sunset views. The grandeur of this queen book palace according to historical records is a relic that was built around the 8th century, supposedly this temple was a silent witness from the beginning of the triumph of the land of Sumatra. Although founded by Buddha, this temple has a lot of Hindu elements, this is seen by the symbol of lingga and yoni as well as the gold plate which is a form of worship of Lord Shiva.

Dieng is my favorite place to hunt for photos of scenery and culture, because there are many temple temples scattered in every corner of Dieng. But there is an Arjuna Temple that is still well preserved, which I like to photograph this Arjuna temple because it has a background view of the Dieng plateau. So that it can make a combination of landscape and architectural photos at the same time, when it's best to come here in the morning. Because not many people have come and we can freely explore the beauty of this temple area.
