"Have you seen a tree that has no leaves but just magnificent pink and white flowers?"
It is Sakura tree! It is Japan's national flower. It has been loved intensely by many people and attracted many tourist in Japan. For a traveler like me, it is a great opportunity to have viewed of this adorable flowers since Cherry Blossoms
happens only once in a year.
Note;
For tourists, there is no particular or exact date or weeks on when Cherry Blossoms gonna be.
Mostly it happens during the start of spring season in Japan. Before it blossoms it will be forecasted either in the middle of March or first week of April. My advice before you travel you have to inquire first so you may not be dismayed.
Cherry Blossom Festival - my experienced
"Sakura Hanami Matsuri" or in English " Cherry Blossom Festival is one of the most celebrated festival in Japan. Not only tourists who are eagerly waiting for this season but also most of the Japanese families. It has been a Japanese traditional event to have picnics beneath the blooming Cherry trees. As a tourists we also have our picnics together with my fellow Filipinos. We were having barbeque as our meal.
I was living in Hachinohe Aomori Ken Perfecture in Japan. During that time, Kodumo no Kuni or Children's park was just a distance to our place in which Cherry blossom was mostly celebrated. So most often in those days the place was a little bit crowded.There were lot of individuals in the area like Americans and some other nationalities. One of their programs was a variety show. And there were also rides in the area.
Though the place was very wide, what caught my attention was the banana in the cage. It made me wonder how they took care of it knowing that it only grows in a tropical countries.
Sakura Hanami, was an experienced of a lifetime. Not all tourist were lucky enough to watch it since it only blooms for a week that is why they call it " a temporary beauty".
I was also given the chance to taste their rice covered with Sakura leaves and a tea with a Sakura flower. It made me thought of how Japan and Japanese people maintain its balance. They give importance to nature and to their culture despite of being known as rich people.
"Thank you for that memorable experience Japan"
