While in Jamaica, I visited this incredible mother tree in St. Thomas. My Source Farm eco-village family is working to protect this tree and restore the land it lives on... because trees give us life <3 It seriously felt like the tree in Avatar.
It took 10 people to wrap around the tree! It was an entire eco-system in itself, covered with other species. Here's a photo of just a small portion of the air plants living on this tree.
She rooted deep down in to the earth and expanded to such great heights, a truly remarkable being.
I've been reading about trees and I think that tree might be thousands of years old!!!
Whoaaa really?! That's amazing. Imagine what Jamaica was like 1000 years ago!!
