Hello,
My wife and I flew to Las Vegas last Friday to travel around there.

Pictures will be added later tomorrow as all of the pictures are in her phone.

We flew in late Friday night, so we didn't get to do anything in the city that night as we were planning on leaving early morning to Zion national park. We rented a car from Hertz to use for the weekend as we were driving a lot.

We started lazy on Saturday morning. We were planning to leave around 6:30, but didn't leave until around 8am. It took us around 3 hours and half as we stopped along the way to get some food. We thought we arrived at 11:30 am, but apparently, there was a time difference from Las Vegas and Zion national park. It was 12:30 pm (1 hour faster). We only checked the time zone at Grand Canyon (as we were going to the east end of the park, which is more east then Zion), which it had same time as Las Vegas. So we actually started our adventure way later than we were hoping to. Seems like Utah has day light savings but Arizona doesn't. Would've been good to know.

When we arrived at Zion, we had to take a shuttle from the entrance of the parks to different stops.
It was different from Yosemite where we could drive around the valley on our own. However, the shuttles ran very frequently and it was pretty convenient.

We never bothered to check the weather, but it turned out great. Not a single cloud. We really lucked out (Unfortunately, there were a lot of people in the park).

We started our adventure with Angel's landing hike, which took us around 4 hours to complete. It was the most recommended hike in Zion.
At the top, we could overlook most parts of Zion national park. It was truly one of the most amazing scenic I have ever seen.
The hike was pretty tough (since I haven't hike for few years). There were a lot of switchbacks and steep incline.

However, I found hike to Scout's overlook the most difficult. From Scout's overlook and to Angel's landing, the path was really narrow and dangerous, so there were a lot of traffic, which slowed down the hike. We chatted with few people as we were forced to travel as a pack (There were only room for 1 person to move safely in most of the path, so there were times where we had to stop and let people going the other direction pass for awhile).

We spent around 15 minutes at the peak and headed down.

Since we only had one day at Zion, we wanted to see as much as possible.
I really wanted to do the "The Narrows" hike, which was hiking upstream in the water, but we didn't have any gears or time (they rent out a gear at the entrance of the park).

I know we only went to the entrance of the hike, but it was slightly disappointing as you can see in the photo below.

With much eagerness, we decided to do one more hike to Emerald pools, as they sounded nice.
It was not. Due to the drought season, they were just puddles... it was very unfortunate.

Also, there is only one shuttle stop that offered food. So bringing own food to hikes were essential. My wife and I got really hungry since we didn't bring enough snacks and food. We picked up some bread, veggies, and deli meat in Vegas and assembled sandwiches when we got back to our car really late.

After that, we headed back to our car to drive to Grand Canyon village to spend a night there. We got there really late, around 12 am. We thought we got there around 1 am and was really worried, but luckily, time zone changed again and we were back by an hour. We had a very long day and was planning to watch a sun rise at Grand Canyon next morning, so we took a quick shower and went to bed right away.

Grand canyon day will be posted soon.

Thanks! Both Zion and Grand canyon were amazing visits.

I hope you could share us some photos of that Grand Canyon Village. It must be a good place.

Damn.. I don't know if we actually took photos of the village, since it just had lodges and a grocery store. I will look for it in my wife's phone and upload it if there are.

Amazing thing was that there were a lot of wild life. At one point, we saw an Elk sitting right beside the grocery store.
