SOCAR - Sharing Just Got Simple

I went to visit my friend earlier today and he introduced me to the newest Car Sharing App in Town called SOCAR

Yes Car-sharing. It’s like a cross between carpool and rideshare. With the SOCAR app one can now do the following.

1. Sign up quickly with a super easy “ take a selfie with your driver’s license” and post it to them process.
2. Become a member and start booking your drives now.

You can book a SOCAR through the app which tells you where the nearest cars are. They are available all over KL with special designated parking spaces at leading neighbourhoods and shopping malls.

You can book them from as little as 30mins to a week a month. It’s totally up to you. Great if you don’t own a car but would like to drive to and from work without forking out hundreds of ringgit for seasonal parking and petrol.

That is the Axia I rode in today. It was nice and clean and smelled so New! I guess it’s good they won’t let you eat or smoke in the car. You are however allowed to bring your pets, but they must be in a secure pet carrier.

The entire fleet of SoCars have been modified using Korean Keyless Smart Button technology which allows you to unlock and start the car using the control centre on the mobile app. The car comes with dual airbags and a mounted DVR camera that can record when accidents as they are happening.
SOCAR rates

The app also tells you how much u will pay from the timeframe you stipulate when u book the car. You can either head to the SOCAR pickup zones or for an extra RM5 you can request to have SOCAR Door to Door valet service. Yes the car will be dropped off and picked up by SOCAR but only within the Damansara - Bangsar - Mont Kiara zones.

The car is equipped with parking card and fuel card so just follow the well placed signs.
