Last post from my trip to Crete, Greece (September 2023)

Hello everyone and welcome to the last post dedicated to my trip to Crete island in Greece this past September. Sharing these post took way longer than I expected but I am still glad I put them out there as a digital diary of the amazing time I had in one of my favorite countries!

One of the days me and my friends spent on the island was dedicated to changing up the environment a little bit and going to the new beach instead of the one we would usually go to that we really liked by the way, but you know that feeling when you're on vacation and you just want to see and experience as much as possible? That's how we ended up in Red Havana beach bar located in Agia Marina, a place right next to Stalos where our accommodation was. It was a really nice place but we all agreed that Ammos & Ilios (I wrote about it in my last post) was better, not only because we felt more comfortable but the atmosphere at Ammos & Ilios was a lot more relaxed and it was also cheaper.

Anyways, we decided to make the most out of our day at Red Havana and for me that includes my favorite beach beverage - frappuccino! Also both of these beach bars are close to my favorite street food style gyros that I had many times and oh, how I wish I could have one right now! Me and a couple of my friends randomly discovered this small gyros place as we were walking around looking for something like this as we got tired of ordering food at the beach - we were actually craving a traditional gyros and kept coming back for more!

One of the reasons why I love walking around a new place and discovering it that way is because of small, random spots that you find on the way. On few occasions we came across interesting houses, sculptures and details - I don't really know what or who they represent but it was nice to see something like this among the typical touristy things.

Another thing I really loves about Crete, and I think this goes for the rest or most of Greece, are these pink/fuchsia colored flowers or bushes (?) - I am not really sure what they are but they are absolutely beautiful, so vibrant in color and they really stand no matter where you see them. Also small shops and restaurants with an unique style and vibe are something I loved seeing. My friends stopped by to get some ice-cream at this little but super cute and super pink ice-cream shop.

With this post I am ending series about Crete island adventures, it was so much fun sharing these posts with you as traveling is one of my absolute favorite things to do and write about! Thank you all so much for joining me! Next month I am going on a short trip so more travel content is on your way... I am visiting a capital city of one of the European countries so maybe you can guess in the comments where you think I am going to... :)
