Intro/ Day 1: my flight was meant to take 6 hours,..it ended up taking 17hours in total and my arrival to Honningsvåg (North Cape Island) ended up quite differently than I had imagined. My journey started in Stavanger (my homecity), which would stop by Oslo - Tromsø and eventually send me to Honningsvåg (North Cape Island) ended up quite different from what I had imagined. My journey started in Stavanger (my home city), which would stop by Oslo - Tromsø and eventually send me to Honningsvåg. I was meant to be there at 12 midday. Unfortunately, there was some problems with the aircraft in Oslo, which lead to a delay and resulted in me missing my flight from Tromsø, - and the next flight was, guess what - 11hours away. And there I was with no other alternative. I'm told that there is only smaller aircraft which fly up, which room about 15-30 people, and make several stops. Therefore the massive delay, - because the aircraft were just not big enough to compensate for the passengers that missed their flight earlier.
I've been given some food coupons, which I invested in food and water for the upcoming day, (as I was already through the security, and nothing will be open when I arrive). A bottle of water, a salad, a yogurt and some food bars. So I get on the flight and off to Hammerfest we go. However, no one told me that I had to do another security check...and there goes my food, and I'm left with an empty bottle and some food bars. In addition, they start arguing about my bicycle tools, and wants to confiscate then, saying they are too long in cm, therefore classified as a weapon.
I argue back, stating that the multi tool in question has already gone through 3 security checks in Norway! I refuse to give it away, as I cant put my bike together without it. As I'm creating a scene, they escort me away and I get put into a room where we can talk. "You are about to send me up to one of the least populated areas in all of Europe arriving without sufficient food, an empty bottle and no tools, 11 hours after I should have been there in the first place". At this point, I've had enough! The only thing I had going for me was someone to pick me up at the airport and give me a lift to a lodge. The men at the airport eventually soften up and offers to send my multi tool separately (as mail) with the flight - which I agreed to. They even filled up my water bottle on the other side of the security. In the end, it all worked out fine.

Norway is an amazing country. We really enjoyed visiting it
It is truly a beautiful country! Even though I am Norwegian then I had severely undermined how much I 'knew it' as I would (pretty much on a daily basis) discover new places.
