Away from the noise, spend moments of peace close to nature, then go on a journey to Mahabaleshwar

in #travel5 years ago

Mahabaleshwar is a weekend destination for people from Pune and Mumbai. If you want to spend some time away from the noise, then go to see Mahabaleshwar. People come from far and wide to see this mountainous beauty surrounded by dense forests. Mahabaleshwar is called the queen of the mountains. It received the title of most beautiful hill station during the British rule. Tourists get mesmerized by looking at the lush green hills. Cold winds, high peaks are characteristic of Mahabaleshwar. Mahabaleshwar used to be the summer capital during the British rule. It is the closest and popular hill station in Maharashtra.

Beautiful views

Last summer it was suddenly scheduled to go to Mahabaleshwar. The weather starts to change as we move through the curved roads with green curves. Closer to the destination, the clouds announced that they will rain full today. Seeing the sight of rain, the mind started getting excited. The origin of Krishna river is also the same. Beholding this unending beauty of nature amidst the showers gives a different feeling. Amidst the lush greenery of the mountains and the fog enveloping all around, the sweet sounds of the birds are mingling in the ears amidst the calm atmosphere, the waterfalls falling from the height on the road side attract us automatically.

Moment to season

As the journey progressed, the weather was also changing color. We hired a car from Pune. Panchgani falls before Mahabaleshwar, which is known for its educational institutions. Many Bollywood celebrities have been schooled here. Mahabaleshwar is only 20 km from here. The climate of Panchgani is mildly cold, after the pollution of Delhi, the pure air here fills the lungs like freshness. Even in the month of June, the sun here was relaxing. After we had left the scorching heat of Delhi, this change of weather was also disturbing some. Alam of rain that would have stopped for some time, the rain would have surrounded it as soon as it moved forward. Perhaps this is one of the reasons for the moss on the walls outside the houses. Local people say that it receives the highest rainfall in summer.

Roaming places

We had reached Mahabaleshwar according to the heat of Delhi and it seemed that there would not have been such a cold, so we had kept only warm clothes. Arriving there, the mood of the weather changed in such a way that it got very cold. It was raining that it was not taking the name of stoppage. Well, in the same weather, we went to Elephant Head Point. There is an elephant head made of natural rock. From there, only the mountains and greenery can be seen from far and wide, people told this, but as long as we stayed there, the fog enveloped the entire plaintiffs so that nothing was clearly visible. The air is cold and rain is also frequent… sometimes fast or sometimes slow. It was not appropriate to stay there till late in such weather.

Savitri Point

Our guide advised us to see Savitri point and went there too. Savitri river is visible from there but there was so much mist here that nothing was visible. In the rainy monkeys herds of monkeys were having fun, although they do not harass anyone, yes they need to be a little careful if they are carrying food and food as they snatch the stuff by hand. When the weather started getting bad, the guide asked to return. It was regretful in my mind that I could not see this place all my life during the difficult holidays.

Pratapgad Fort

After this we reached to see the fort of Pratapgad, which is built on the top of the mountain. It was built by Chhatrapati Shivaji. It is the largest fort in Maharashtra, where there was a war between Shivaji and the commander of Bijapur, Afzal Khan, in which Shivaji was conquered and Afzal Khan was killed at his hands.

Shiva Temple

Old Mahabaleshwar has the oldest temple of Lord Shiva. According to mythological beliefs, this temple is five thousand years old, it was built in the 13th century. The craftsmanship of that era is made on the wall. The biggest feature of this temple is that it has a Rudraksha shaped Shivling. There is Sri Panchganga Temple in the premises of Mahabaleshwar Temple. Five rivers originate here - Krishna, Koyna, Savitri, Gayatri, Venna.

The most famous river of South India is Krishna. Here the water comes out of the cow's mouth and falls into the pool. It is believed that this temple was built by the Pandavas. It is said that one who takes a bath in this pool gets free from all faults and sins.
