Watter Days

A throwback to a most damp excursion to Valentines Peak, when the moss and lichen were dripping, all the fungus glistening and the treeline marked the end of any modicum of shelter from the blasting elements of the day on that exposed climb. In fact, the summit attempt on this day was abandoned because of the exposure and cold that met us as we emerged from the vegetation onto the blade ridge.

We're enjoying a cooler westerly air stream today which has brought nearly 7mm of overnight rain. It's a welcome change from the last few days of dry nor-easterly heat, although it is still very warm and muggy.

Hope your day today is joyful.
