With no planning in head, we decided to travel Guwahati, capital city of Assam. We were five travelling together. We didn't have reservation tickets, we packed into already tightly packed Coach, somehow managed to stand there and headed towards Guwahati. After five hours we reached Rangia Junction, train had a halt of half an hour. We refresh ourselves and entered into the reservation Coach and took a sleeper seat, within five minutes I started dreaming, I was that tired in general coach.
It is good as well as bad to see some wonderful, some painful scenes in the railway stations in India. What good are its cleanliness, protection and many more. Bad parts are poor homeless people lying near the platforms, sometimes the smell of open defecation disturb you much. Changing conditions of Indian railways are praiseworthy, still there are much to do in coming days to flourish more- the railway transportation. After half an hour the train headed to last stoppage- kamakhya Junction. We then boarded in a city bus and headed to one of my friends rented room. Some were refreshing, some finding a corner to take a nap, some lighting cigarettes with refreshing tea, I found a bed and I was no more in physical world (smile). We enjoyed so much in train that my stomach cramps still to cure(haha!).
I don't know why this photo appeares like this, still I am trying to upload it properly, it happens like this several times to me ! Having our lunch, figured out some places to visit, football stadium and a friendly match between Northeast United and Indian soccer team was the best option. I nodded, as some of us have never been to football stadium and enjoy a match physically yet !
Entering into the stadium I wondered why not I visit this wonderful place to watch matches, though suggesting many times my friend @iammanish, thanks to him. Becoming little introspective we came to know that
it is the current home ground of Northeast United FC. It has a total capacity of 35,000 which was later reduced to 23,850 due to installation of bucket seats for 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup, which was hosted in India. In 2017, it hosted the 33rd National Games of India and in 2016, hosted the South Asian Games.
Whether it is football time or not it is always good to show your love and support for the sports. The match ended up with 1-1. We then went to one of friends house who came there to receive us. Meeting an old friend after several months should be celebrated with some beverages (smile). Chilling out with beer stood firmly with no other options. Sharing many childhood memories, it was 1:00 AM, we stopped. The question was wher to go next day ? There were many places to visit, in the time of October there is no better option then the world famous temple -Kamakhya. some of you might have already visited the magical temple to receive the grace of Goddess Kamakhya.
It was morning and we headed to the temple with local van standing near the entry gate to the temple.
How to reach Kamakhya ?
It takes around 20 to 25 minutes to reach the temple from the railway station, depending on the traffic and time of the day. Alternatively, you may also get down at the Kamakhya Railway Station and hire a local transport to reach the temple.
If you take local transport it will cost 20 Rupees to get there. We were there we took local transport and reached there in about 15 minutes. We skipped many view points, you better take ola, Uber to enjoy all the view points in between the entry gate and the main gate of the temple.
It was Navratri time, the temple was filled with devotess came from different places. The temple has many stories, you can Google it. It is one of the oldest of the 51 Shakti pithas. Shakti pithas are significant pilgrimage destinations of Hindu.
You can see such sculptures in and around the temple which are depiction of fine architecture of ancient India dated back many centuries. It is the result of hard work and love for what you are doing with body and mind aligned in one direction.
The temple was covered with garlands from top to bottom and looking very charming. All other places were also decorated by garlands on the occasion of Navratri. Navratri is a Hindu festival that spans nine nights and is celebrated every year in autumn. Specially this festival is celebrated in northern india.
Bells are totally covered by red ribbons, seeking blessings, if wishes whatever devotees ask for become true they come back again and untie any one, as it is hard to identify the exact one. You may see such ribbons tieing up in trees in many places in India. It is believed that God resides in trees, if we see scientifically trees are the basis of our lives, it is not less than God.
I couldn't pass through there without capturing this wonderful picture of this monk. I was fascinated by the monks doing yogas all around the temple. Some laughing closing their eyes, some walking accompanied by dance, some were chanting on beads and some were standing in long queque to get an entry to the main spot of temple. We were asked not to use camera inside the temple so we couldn't capture various sculptures out there. Believe me, when we entered inside the main temple, it was different kind of experience for me, a different type of feeling arose within me, it feels like I was in a different place.
This picture shows the immensity and profundity of science of yoga. A guy from other country practicing yoga in this temple, what would be better than this ? Yoga is not a religion you can make a guess with this. Modern science has proved that yoga is not a religion, it is a tool to aid you in the path of your journey, it is a tool of self exploration. Religion is also a way to divinity. Sometimes religion divides people leading to various inhumane activities rather than binding all like different flowers in a garland. We should respect every religion and promote love, peace and brotherhood all around the globe rather than spreading hatred, war and narrow identity. Lets strive to make a world better place. Yes, I think steem blockhain has the potential.
There are many places in the world and it is not possible to visit all of them. If you get a chance to visit Assam, don't forget to pay a visit here, you will love it.
View of the Kamakhya temple from the waiting line. The temple is dedicated to Tantric practices. Tantra is a text and a tradition and a practice, and the term tantra is used to describe all three. At its core, tantra centers on union with the divine. If that sounds too woo, just think of it as a tool that can bring more intimacy into your life, whether you currently have a partner or not.
Two hours spending in the temple, stomach making weird sounds, we then went to a hotel and had our breakfast. How many times you visit to this temple still it doesn't quenches thirst, it calls you again and again, this is the significance of this temple. Promising to come back again we then came to the railway station near the temple and grabbed a ticket and boarded on train playing the song see you again !
I hope you all like it. See ya ! Hoping you all are doing well. May the Goddess kamkhya makes you all happy and healthy . Thanks for stopping by.
