Birders Cottage: Magoebaskloof

In yesterday's post, I mentioned that my wife and I took a very short break, in the first week of the new year. We stayed in Magoebaskloof, in a place called Birders Cottage. My wife and I are not birders, but we wanted a peaceful place to stay, and this was it.

The cottage is on a working avocado farm and one needs to drive around 5km on a small twin track road to get to the destination, which is in the middle of a forest.

The photo above shows the view from the porch and below you can see some more vegetation surrounding the cottage.

I don't know if one can call the thing below a splash pool, as it has only space for 4 people to sit in, and perhaps 6 if you squeeze in tight.

We went for a nice walk on one of the walking trails, that meanders through the forest.

The vegetation was quite dense, and it was great to walk in the middle of nature like this.

After our walk, we did make use of the splash pool to cool down, while at the same time we had some beer and gin to drink

We enjoyed our walk in the forest and our cool down in the splash pool afterwards.

I hope you enjoyed the post and that you have a wonderful day
