About Krabi

Krabi, on southern Thailand’s west coast, is a region marked by craggy, sharp limestone cliffs, thick mangrove trees,, and more than a 100 offshore islands. Some of its most popular beach destinations embrace the Phi Phi Islands, which jut from the sea like huge rain forested boulders, and Railay Beach, reachable only by boat and a prominent rock climbing spot.

History Of Krabi

Krabi is a southern region on Thailand's Andaman seaboard with maybe the country's oldest history of continued agreement. In 1872 King Chulalongkorn politely raised these to town reputation, called Krabi, a word that conserve in its meaning the monkey symbolism of the old excellence.

Railay is one of Thailand's most popular beach areas. situated just south of Ao Nang and reachable only by boat, Railay presents a timeless calm world. In just one small peninsula you will find 4 spectacular white sand beaches, soaring limestone cliffs, viewpoints, caves and a lagoon hidden inside the cliffs. No wonder it’s one of the most visited places in Krabi.

. The Emerald Pool

Domain to many amazing plants and animals The Natural Park is an area of excellent natural beauty, one part that is especially inspiring is the Crystal Lagoon. Also known as the Emerald Pool, the water is naturally pleasant and completely clear, you can go for a swim and escape to another world whilst admiring the waterfall. Keep your eye out for the Pita Gurney bird, once belief to be vanished but some have been spotted within the park.

. Wat Tham Sua (Tiger Cave)

Situated near Krabi Town, Wat Tham Sua or 'Tiger Cave' is one of the most popular caves in the region. Part of a temple complex where monks live and reverence within a maze of natural caves encircled by vigorous jungle. Inside one of the caves are what to be seen is tiger paw prints embedded in the rock. The main tourist feature however, is the 1,272 steps climb up a limestone tower to see the 'footprint of the Buddha.

. Klong Thom Hot Springs

Klong Thom Hot Springs are situated in the jungle near the Khao Phra Bang Khram Nature Reserve. Early volcanic pockets are the origin of these thermal springs. They are believed to ease a number of ailments such as rheumatism, sciatica and other skin problems. They offer a pleasing time, bathing in the warm water near by a pristine lush environment.

. Phi Phi Islands

The Phi Phi islands are some of the prettiest in Thailand. After being used as the film location for the movie ‘The Beach’ The Phi Phi islands shot to popularity and the tourists have never stopped coming. Situated just a 90 minutes ferry boat ride from Krabi Town. There are 2 islands, Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Leh, Phi Phi Don is inhabited and is the one where all the tourists throng. Known for its azure water and incredible beaches the island really is a tropical paradise.
