We went to Montauk a few days ago. It took a few hours to drive from Brooklyn all the way out to the end of Long Island. When we got there, the first thing we wanted to do was hike the trail. It goes from the forest to the bluffs that overlook the water.
Almost to the water!
We made it after a half hour. We had to turn around a couple of times after encountering some super muddy parts of the trail. Everyone's shoes were completely orange by the time we reached the water!
There are fences that prevent you from walking too far out on the bluff. This is to limit the amount of bluff erosion, and also because the bluff is unstable and could collapse with you on it. Looking out over the bluffs, you can see pipes and bathtubs buried in the sand- this is a reminder of past times the bluff has collapsed, taking houses with it.
So beautiful.
Looks like a nice place to go
great shots and awesome story :), looks like you guys had a fun time !
Thanks! It was a lot of fun!
