This is a follow up of my previous post: https://peakd.com/tuktuk/@jordan-tainan/tuktuk-day-2-and-3-sigiriya-kandy-gampola
Traveling with @stoodkev and @balourdos95
Our goal of the 3rd day was to reach Nuwara Eliya. After leaving Gampola we had to stop at a gas station to fill up the tank. Fun fact, the manager of the gas station has his brother zorking in the wine industry in Bordeaux which is where @stoodkev comes from. He shared his business card to us.
Driving up and down in the tea plantation was quite challenging for the tuktuk but very beautiful for us.
We did stop at the Damro plantation for some tea but we got served tea without intro or anything and next to it was the souvenir store. It felt a bit like a tourist trap, even though it is really the tea plantation there.
We finally could make it to Nuwara Eliya. We started with a nice walk around and then went for a walk around the lake. Except that they asked us to pay for that as we were entering the park surrounding the lake.
We did not go in and just stayed walk around the lake few meters away from that park…
We finally reached an old British colony style hotel for a beer.
We wanted to go for dinner afterwards ut bumped into the saddest fair I ever saw. Up to now the saddest I have been was in Myanmar but this is now number 1. Loud music, few old attractions and food stoll and no one except us. I felt I had to purchase something… So I went for the grilled potato chips which I have seen in Taiwan for so manw years but tried them here in Sri Lanka. Not good… but we catched up with a nice meal on a floating boat. Nobody onboard, no toilet either, but friendly staff and nice food!
The following day our goal was Haputale but passing by the Horton Plains. We didn’t expect that we had to pay to just use the road passing through the park but we did and do not regret it. Actually we went for a hie in the park and so lots of nice areas and monkeys.
The rest of the ride to Haputale was quite tough, the tuktuk making weird sounds and feeling weird in the mountains we decided to have it checked. As usual people were so nice. Only the wife of the garage owner was here but she went to find him for us and then we were good to go again!
We then arrived in Haputale almost without issue but I will share more in my next post.
Did @stoodkev bring the SangSom on this TukTuk ride?
We drink Arak here ^^
I'm sorry, but I can't help but want to call those little rides fukfuks 😆

Amazing journey and lovely photos.
Fortunately, you found a mechanic before the tuk-tuk went bonkers. 😃😂
You're having a wonderful trip. You are very lucky to have all these adventures. I just watched @stoodkev's videos of you driving past elephants and the adrenaline rushes are incredible. Also the scenery always looks stunning.
