ONE THING IS TO PLAY, ANOTHER THING IS TO FEEL

The post season was just beginning, people were as excited as if their lives depended on it. His companions were hiding the nervousness showing themselves excited and happy. Inside it was as if his body failed him.

Harry knew there was nothing to worry about, with him on the team the victory would be assured. The sad thing was that he couldn´t comfort his companions with that, it was a secret.

He didn't understand many things about life, but something that was definitely clear to him was that they built he to win and nobody should know the nature of his origin. Harry could do that without problems, he is a robot, he isn't real feelings.

Harry had a database directly connected to the internet which had taken him out of many problems in his short life since it's inception. He wasn't only the best player but also the smartest one.

He should only focus on winning four of seven games. Nothing very complicated, however, sometimes his circuits, underneath all that almost human synthetic skin, reasoned that he could be doing something more important.

Playing baseball is fine but he could literally save the world.

Maybe being connected to the internet wasn't the best in the end.

His reasoning came to an end when Jimmy the youngest of the team entered the shower room. Harry forgot that he had been there for a while, he had not even undressed because ... Well, robots don't sweat, it's not like he needs a bath, just pretend he needs it.

He was willing to leave but for Jimmy who was watching him in terror.

"Does something Jimmy happen?" .He had read not long ago that people care about each other, he hoped that although his tone didn't show any feeling, Jimmy would feel the worry.

The robots don't worry.

That internal affirmation in a person would have caused a bitter taste, in Harry it didn't cause anything and that was worse.

"Yes, I ... I wanted you to help me with your experience." The boy seemed so nervous that it was as if he was talking about things he should not talk about.

"Experience? Playing baseball?" In that he could help, he was programmed mainly for that.

"No, well, I have feelings for someone." And what did it have to do with baseball? That conversion was confusing Harry exponentially.

"That is good"

"It's not, it's for another guy." Oh ... That was a surprise, Harry knew there were people in the world who loved differently, despite the genre. He isn't like he could comment because, well ...

The robots don`t love.

" And why are you telling me?"

"I thought you could help me, the guys whisper about you." Jimmy seemed sincere.

"About me?"

"Yes, they say ... Well, you, you know." That was the least clear explanation Harry had received in his life.

"No, I don't know". The boy pariah about to open a hole in the middle of the locker room and disappear into it.

"I got the impression that we were playing on the same team." Harry momentarily confused and turned his eyes to the sticker on the wall with the Yankees logo.

"If we do, we play baseball together." Poor Jimmy's face went through all shades of shame until a spark of anger shone in his eyes.

"I thought that everyone would be the most serious, you just make fun as others would." Harry had not had a chance to refute because Jimmy was already gone.

He wasn`t making fun.

The robots don't make fun.

Harry would have liked to be a human for about five minutes to feel sorry for Jimmy or remorse for offending him, but there was nothing, no feeling.

Harry left the changing room without changing, even in the team's uniform. He went to the field and went to train although he didn't need it. It was night and the field was empty, surely his companions rested, Harry didn't need to rest.

The robots don't rest.

For some reason the list of everything he couldn't feel disturbed him, as well as a robot could be disturbed. He mean, nothing.

Harry continued practicing, forgetting the situation with Jimmy.

He only had to play baseball, for that he was designed.

After all, robots can`t feel.
