Safeguarding champions Real Madrid will confront Bayern Munich in the semi-finals of the Champions League while Liverpool play AS Roma in a rehash of the 1984 last.

Cristiano Ronaldo's Real will go to Bayern's Allianz Arena for the main leg while Liverpool will have Roma at Anfield in their first match, after Friday's draw.

The Liverpool-Roma tie pits Mohamed Salah, who has scored 39 objectives in all rivalries as of now this season, against his previous club. "Anticipating seeing you once more," Roma tweeted about the Egyptian striker.

Genuine, who have won the opposition 12 times, achieved the semi-finals by fending off a wonderful Juventus rebound before Ronaldo scored a late punishment to give them a 4-3 win on total.

Roma created a standout amongst the most striking rebounds in Champions League history to thump out Lionel Messi's Barcelona with a 3-0 triumph in the Italian capital that gave them an unforeseen win on away objectives over the two legs.

Bundesliga champions Bayern, who named their previous player Niko Kovac as their next mentor minutes before the draw, facilitated past Sevilla in their quarter-last.

Bayern's donning executive Hasan Salihamidzic said Real held no dread for the Bavarians, who lost to Madrid in the 2017 quarter-finals.

"They are imposing rivals. We were thumped out by them a year ago and we need to improve the situation this year," Salihamidzic said.

"I'm hopeful. We have incredible regard for them yet we're not apprehensive."
