This is a time and a season where people turn tables round put books everywhere and look for solutions here and there for the execrises they didnt do or some of the things they didnt understand examinations help one to.determine themselves weather they are worthy for the next step or not.
Some prove if their parents sweat is not put to waste because their parents pay their tution as others prove their worth if their own sweat for tution is not put to waste.
Examinations are not only for the students but everything in life has an examination and each examination has a certain way its set and its own marking guide only that some examinations have room for corrections but others dont tho today let me majorly talk about examinations for the students.
Some of the causes why people fail exams.
Some people pay others to sit for them examinations and dont care to read for themselves but wait for those they paid to do the exam.
Poor reading skills where some people just and cram so bu the time they reach the examination they have forgotten what they cramed.
Some people expect to copy from their colligues and in the process they dont get a chance so they lack what to write and end up failing.
As others pay people to help them get answers they end up failing because the people they trusted take the money and dont even help.them or give them wrong answers sometimes because these ones trusted them and could not read they cant tell the wrong answers.
Some people are lazy to do research so they stay confortable with the little their teachers, lecturers gave them and yet the exam requires one to have abroad mind as you go for the exam.
The kind of friends some people have can cause them to fail becasue of the kind of information they share during that examination period.
Their mindset towards certian exams is negative so they end up failing because of that.
"1. Laziness: One of the biggest reasons why students fail examination is laziness. A lecturer once said “we don’t have dumb students, but lazy students.” When a student is lazy, he finds it difficult to read, attend classes, do homework, and make researches and other things that can ensure examination success. How is it possible to successfully sit for an exam you virtually know nothing of? Exam success doesn’t work like magic, it involves hard work and diligence.
“we don’t have dumb students, but lazy students.”
Over-Confidence: Some students are too confident of themselves that they overlook those tiny things that count. Over-confidence could lead to under performance. Nobody said a little self-confidence in your abilities is wrong but being Over-Confident could be dangerous. Just because you have an idea in a topic does not mean you should go sit for the exam believing that reading such topic would be a waste of time. No matter how simple or small something or somebody may appear, don’t be too sure that you don’t need them. Over-confidence kills.
Bad Reading Habits: Most students don’t know how to read and the conditions that best suit their body system. It baffles me how students who haven’t read throughout the semester would want to cover every topic in just one week prior exam. How will that sink in? (You could read 10 Most Effective Study Habits For Students, it will help)
Lack of Interest: One of the reasons why students fail exams is lack of interest. It would be an uphill task to pass a subject you don’t have interest in. A computer science student whose interest lays so much in photography will find it difficult to read and pass CSC101.
Mind-set: Many people don’t really know what the mind-set is one of the reasons why students fail exam. Everything in life lies in the mind. “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t — you’re right” (Henry Ford). If you have the mind-set that you will fail, no matter the effort you put in it, you will end up failing.
“Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t — you’re right” — Henry Ford
Too Engaged: Some students are just too engaged in one activity or the other that they have no time to figure out why they are too engaged. They have virtually joined all the organizations on campus in such a way that today’s lecture collides with rehearsal class. On returning from the rehearsal, he or she is too tired to study for tomorrow’s text — Failure starts.
Friends: If you keep friends who don’t mind failing, then you are not far from failing. These friends would make sure they discourage you from studying hard for exams, see to it that you join them in skipping classes and change your orientation that you can never pass. Since you can’t beat them, you join them. (You could also read 15 Kinds of Friends Every Student Will Meet on Campus
Finance: One of the reasons why students fail exams is their financial power. Poor financial status can hinder students from buying materials that would enhance exam success. They find it hard to get good meals, resourceful materials for studying, and gadgets to make their research works and assignments easier. Paying for excursion to different educational places would also be pretty difficult. A student with very low financial power would be forced to look out for alternatives which are a distraction to their academics.
Bad Teachers: Bad teachers make bad students. Some lecturers are just out and out terrible. These set of teachers need to go back to school to begin learning from the scratch. Some teachers have taught their students errors and these students are suffering for it in their respective colleges and institutions. Some campus lecturers are rude, sadists and cruel to students and this has made the students to lose interest in their subjects.
Procrastination: Procrastination is the thief of time, another big reason why students fail. “I will do it later! I will do it later!” You end up not doing it. “Never leave that till tomorrow which you can do today.” Do that reading or assignment today; do not push it till the next day.
Did you know that what you eat can affect you on the day of exam?"

The causes to the above problem can be over come.
People should change their reading culture so that it helps them excel.
One shoulf change the kind of company they have if they are to excel
More research should be done before exams
"Exam stressThere are three main ways that students of all ages can sabotage themselves in exams: poor exam technique, poor revision and weak understanding of the subject itself.
The last of these is the hardest to get round. It may be due to teaching that is not brilliant, or just to the fact that you are not really interested in a subject. But once you are committed to taking an exam, you may as well give it your best shot. Things you can do to improve your knowledge:
Make sure you have read all the set textbooks/workbooks and then supplement that information with (good, accredited) sources of information on the internet and from the library. Revision websites such as BBC Bitesize are great for identifying what you do and don’t know – but look at them well in advance, not the week before the exam.
Study with your friends sometimes, to encourage you to work, share ideas and to learn their techniques for understanding and remembering things. Ask parents or older friends to help.
Consider a tutor if you’re struggling. Learning from a different person can really help you build your understanding.
Look out for interesting internet talks, TV programmes or even visits to places related to your subject area. Don’t let them distract you from the core curriculum, but use them to spark your imagination and interest.
Don’t tell yourself “I can’t do xyz,” and write a whole subject off because there’s one part of the curriculum you don’t get (a type of equation, a particular set book). Focus some energy on trying to improve that particular weakness. Ask your teacher to give you some extra pointers.
Revision skills
Good quality revision is vital to exam success. It will take longer than you think, so plan well-ahead and stick to it.
Make yourself a quiet, distraction-free place to study. Be strong about detaching yourself from social media, and focus. Revising in bed is not the best way either to study or to guarantee a good night’s sleep afterwards.
Break subjects down into small sections, so that they don’t seem too daunting and you can gradually tick them off one by one and reward yourself. Studies show that if you absorb a chunk of information and then sleep on it, your brain processes it much more efficiently.
Study past papers and do timed questions to see how you have absorbed the topic. Analyse the sorts of questions they are asking, and look at what you need to know to answer them.
Try as many ways as you like to remember things – draw pictures and mind maps, use memory tricks such as mnemonic lists, put key points on cards or post-its, read things out to friends or family and test each other, record yourself and play it back, list key facts or themes on your phone and review them on the bus, in the car or on the loo – whatever helps!
Take regular breaks to stretch, do deep-breathing or meditation, run round the house or talk to someone. This reboots your brain and rests your eyes.
Look at revision advice online (here and elsewhere).
Exam technique
It’s a shame, when you’ve learned all that stuff, to then mess up on the day. Practise timed questions from past papers as much as you can.
You know in advance how many questions are required, so work out how much time you’ve got for each, and don’t get carried away in the exam.
Build in time at the beginning to read the whole paper, don’t just plunge in on the first question you can do. You can then pick the best questions for you (they might be at the end of the paper), and set your subconscious brain working in the background on the later questions.
“One of the biggest causes of failure is not answering the question,” says an examiner friend of mine. Don’t spot the topic and assume you know what the question says; read it carefully. Avoid splurging out everything you know – make your knowledge fit the question.
In essay questions, plan your answers and cross out the plan afterwards.
Keep calm. Not easy. Getting everything ready the night before can help (pens, calculators, uniform, notes to read on the bus). Eat breakfast. Simple deep breathing or relaxation exercises can help you slow your heart rate and focus. Don’t worry about what your neighbour is doing (they’ve started writing and you’re still planning? You’re the sensible one.)
Sleep is better for your brain than staying up all night revising. In the run-up to the exam, keep junk food and caffeine to a minimum and give your brain and body healthy food and regular exercise to keep your energy levels up.
Good luck… not that you’ll need it!"

But it's a nice post. Keep up
Nice post dia. I believe with such content linked to those still in school (students still in lower classes), their grades will improve by the time the make it to university. If only I knew this I would have been excelling from way back...hehe.
