Hello and good day to all Steemian Ulogger. Today's ULOG is all about the products of Nipa Palms. Well it is a palm tree which can be located in the marshes where the salt and freshwaters meet. This palm is very common here in the Philippines. Most of us don't know that this Nipa palms have many uses other than making a roof in rural areas. So here is one of the product that a group of people who lives in those marshes had made.
This is a bottle of Nipa sap syrup. Nipa sap or"tuba" is a wine sap that when fermented will turn into vinegar or "sukang sasa". This sap known for making vinegar can also be processed into sweet syrup. If the farmer will gather this in the early morning they can process this into this. This syrup is usually used as food condiments, pancake syrup and for sauces.
This next product here is this........
It's a Nipa sugar derived from the syrup when cooked to dry out. This sugar has no glycemic effect so it is safe for those suffering with diabetes. They can use this and it had been proven.
Now there is already an industry for the Nipa palms as people can now make products from these. It a big help for those who lives in the marshes.
This is my ULOG for today and more to come. As I promote this product.
