Repository:
https://github.com/sfllhkhan95/paint
App Name:
Doodle
Version:
3.2.0
Download:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=sfllhkhan95.doodle&rdid=sfllhkhan95.doodle
Device used for testing:
Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro, Qualcomm MSM8956 Snapdragon 650
Android version: 5.1.1, MIUI, unrooted.
Expected behavior:
The app allows you to either create new doodles and save them to the device storage, or to load pictures from gallery or directly from the camera. Choosing gallery give you few media pickers options, using the various photo Gallery applications installed on the users device. Loading image and exiting it without saving shouldn't trigger any special behavior.
Actual results:
Loaded image into the canvas and doodled on it, after exiting without saving I pressed on the big round button at the bottom of the home page which I assume is some kind of about page
The instant I pressed it the application crashed.
Steps to reproduce:
- On the screen home page, press the Gallery button
- Choose "Gallery"
- Pick any image
- Doodle on it
- Press back to exit, press yes to confirm you want to exit
- Press the weird button at the bottom of the screen
- Applications crashes

Notes:
The application suffers from noticeable lag, that makes the doodling not very fun. It's worth testing on other devices to make sure it's not hardware issue on my end.
The repository doesn't have the latest release packaged, to get the latest you either build it using the build.gradle or download it through Google Play.

That's all fine, but what my gripe with you is the questionaire you filled.
"
How would you describe the formatting, language and overall presentation of the post?
The post is poorly written and/or formatted, but readable.
"
What exactly is poorly written? What is wrong with the format?
"
Were the steps to reproduce the bug easy to understand and follow?
The description of the steps severely lacked in clarity, but it is possible to reproduce.
"
Where in the steps I detailed you failed to understand what my intentions were?
Re: log - I agree, the lack of log is not ideal, will try and provide one in my next report. Yet my points still stands - my report is clear, it's detailed... When you score me with
" The description of the steps severely lacked in clarity, but it is possible to reproduce. "
and
" The post is poorly written and/or formatted, but readable. "
And it's simply not true. It's insulting and it discourage me from contributing more in the future.
@achiron You are not wrong. But for example "press the weird button". You must try to use professional format instead of saying "weird button" you can say [for example] : "menu button".These kinds of small mistakes might show the contribution simple. However thank you for your contribution and feedback.
You're grasping at straws. This doesn't open any menu, and it's weird. It opens a window with no title, it doesn't have anything written on it, the graphic is clearly poorly made. Calling it weird would be very reasonable thing to do even in a professional setting. Here it is used many times in github
Are you suggesting all of these people are "doing it wrong"?
Beside that, in the title I called it "about", in the first instance I called it " big round button at the bottom of the home page which I assume is some kind of about page" and in the 2nd instance weird button. This is variations, and it's a literary tool. Like sometime you say god, sometimes the lord, sometime the holy father... It's done as to not bore the person who is reading, and to give extra info. Like the simple fact that this button has bad design. If I was a designer I would've even suggest another graphic for that button. Alas, I'm just a professional QA person...
I would like you to re-read the bug report and fill the questionnaire accordingly. It's perfectly clear, the English is good, it details exactly how to reproduce the bug (not including the trivial step of downloading and launching the app) and it follows the general guidelines for posting bugs. My previous post about how stuff not to do in bug report got very good feedback from the CMs:
