Death Note on Netflix

Death Note started as a Japanese manga series written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata. The story follows Light Yagami, a high school student who discovers a supernatural notebook from a Shinigami named Ryuk that grants its user the ability to kill anyone whose name and face he knows. The series centers around Light's attempts to create and rule a world "cleansed of evil" as "God" using the notebook, and the efforts of a detective known as L to stop him.

This week Netflix debuted a movie based on this manga series.
Possession of the book is overseen by its creator and mysterious god of death, Ryuk (voiced by Willem Dafoe), who acts as a cackling advisor on the rules only the book’s user can see. Willem Dafoe’s excellent voicework as Ryuk is reminiscent of his Green Goblin in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man flix.

I have not yet seen the film but I'm looking forward to it. How about you? Are you planning to watch it?
