In this video we'll be diving into something different in the hopes that new users at some point will bump into my youtube account and learn more about Hive or find out about it through these videos. Although too early to aim for that, I figured maybe there's enough new users on Hive now that may still learn something new about voting mana - how flexible it is in the way it works, how new users should avoid getting dust threshold'ed and how @commentrewarder may help out to not waste voting mana and get some curation rewards even if just to the tune of 0.001 hp!
As always, I'll give some bigger votes to the comments here if they also copy-paste them onto youtube to help grow my outreach there! Thanks!

Sending 10% extra to voters and 10% to commentrewarder!
This is a great initiative. New users often overlook how voting mana works, and understanding the dust threshold early on themselves should be a lot tougher, but can be a game-changer if they understand it somehow, and you trying to help with that would be a great help to them.
I liked the idea of using YouTube to introduce more people to Hive, and I'm looking forward to seeing how this video helps onboard more people.
BTW, I left the comment on your YouTube video first with a like, which should mean I did copy-paste from there to here, lol. And I noticed you're gaining a good number of subscribers already. I hope you're YouTube journey goes smoothly.
Appreciate it a lot!
My pleasure 😊
Hi,
Personally, using the sense of hearing is the most effective way of learning. So your new teaching setup is approved ✅
I'd rather listen than read the posts and try to understand the comments.
With the delegations, only by listening was I able to understand, especially in the “Crypto & Cola” program with various speakers. In fact, sometimes we don't go down the right path due to ignorance (and greed), on issues that are complex.
Regarding @commentrewarder, I'm a regular user. Sometimes I forget to program it in the publication and, unfortunately, in a new edition it is no longer possible to put the “Beneficiary” (at least in Peakd, which I use the most).
I programmed my vote for a comment at 10%. Sometimes, if the comment is good, I stretch it to 80 or 100%. I know I'm burning myself out, but emotion also decides here 🤓
I've also recently started using @dustsweeper to compensate for the dust when posts don't use the commentrewarder.
I don't know if I'm doing it right.

Hmm what do you mean you can't place beneficiaries anymore?
Your comment brings forth an interesting option, that of being able to add default beneficiaries as the author for each and every post rather than having to do it every time. cc @asgarth, is this something that could be added?
Maybe I'm missing something ...what about this option? cc @cryptoreforma @arc7icwolf
Haha nice, wasn't aware. Ya'll are streats ahead!
with @asgarth you can't even wish to have something... because it's already there 🤣
🤣
this^
I think he's referring to the fact that if you publish a post without a beneficiary, then you can't edit it and add it anymore.
Adding default beneficiaries would be a nice solution to that, though.
Indeed!
Hi @acidyo, @arc7icwolf touched on my question. When you forget to put the beneficiary in the publication, it's burnt. You can't put it in the edit anymore.

I've opted for @asgarth's solution. I've set it up in the root so I don't have this problem any more. Thank you.

Perhaps it's important to reiterate that when there are no comments, the commentrewarder returns the percentage of the configured value.
P.S. Sorry for the delay in replying. Different time zones, it was bedtime😴

Fantastic tools, @commentrewarder is my favorite tools from the beginings, until today I have been trying to uses in all my post with 5%%.
I hope all people could uses it for share a little of their earn with their people who comment in their post.
Wow your consistency on your YouTube channel is so encouraging. I'm not currently in a position to watch a video right because of too much noise. So I'll just save it to watch later so I can come dilute what you have left for us 🔥✅🔥
Sharing this to the YouTube comment section too 🙂
Appreciate it!
I almost forgot about Commentrewarder, thank you for the reminder :) I was unavoidably busy, but am getting back to being online
Thank you for your guide-like videos, it is really helpful, especially to new users. I never really paid attention to the dust threshold, and at least I now know from where the comment-rewarder rewards I get come from and I will definitely explore that option more.
I respect the tiny votes, even tiny votes can add up over time to something huge. The dust threshold part is something I wish I knew earlier though, lost way too much voting power without realizing it lol, even with my small HP
Yeah that was the main idea behind it when we set out to create it with @hivetrending - but nice to see a lot more usecases pop off with it such as @peakd snaps, @ecency waves and even @hive-echo using it to reward the comment section of successful sharers!
and maybe even my way to encourage people to leave comments on my youtube videos will be quite powerful in some ways - we're excited about the next announcement of POSH activity kind of touching on that!
so glad, you're doing a whole lot for the Hive community, don't ever be discouraged Mr Acidyo
Greetings, subscribed on YouTube, and learning a little more but what you're talking about is complicated, I understand but certain things
I was wondering how commentrewarder worked. That is pretty awesome, and it totally levels the playing field for smaller stake holders.
@peaceandmoney are you currently using this?
I used @commentrewarder on all my post for quite some time but I then decided to attract purely organic comments and engagement. I have nothing against @commentrewarder but I no longer use it.
I could see how some bad actors would be jump at the opportunity of farming rewards with insincere comments.
"Great post!" - now send me money.
Maybe if they get muted it doesn't happen.
@acidyo bro. If this account that you muted, will it be getting rewards from this post from commentrewarder?
I find this to be a teaching moment for me, and for my friend Tranquility & Loot.
Yes it was that type of concern but not only that really. I am still a minnow and my stake is small but I delegate and in return I receive vote support, this helps me to grow my stake quicker. However, I still want to give out some type of meaningful vote even with a very low stake such as I have.
That's why I introduced VIPS, tips as votes, which means each week I ringfence 5-10% of my post rewards and send them out as tips on posts and comments. This was another reason I decided to discontinue using @commentrewarder.
It only distributes rewards based on your own votes in that post and on the strength you're voting. So if you think someone is just hunting @cr rewards you can just not vote the comment!
So my 11% vote in this comment for instance will give you that portion of the 10% beneficiaries I'm sending to it in the post. if I end up spending a total of 110% voting mana (but calculated in rshares) on the comment section you would get 10% of the total beneficiaries sent to @cr.
perfect. @peaceandmoney you don't have to worry muh dude. If you don't upvote the spammy account, they get nothing.
Yes, and that's an important built in security feature to the service.
the other cool thing with it is that it follows authors who've used it in the last 3 days, so curators could check @commentrewarder/feed to give those authors with genuine comments and curating them well some extra curation to make up for the rewards sent to @cr
Its a great idea, I'm glad its here.
So, let's say I decided to give 100% beneficiary to the commentrewarder. I get 50 cooments and I vote each comment 1% My post generated 100 HIVE in rewards.
So now, how does the calculation work? Does the Commentrewarder calculates all 50 comments and devides 100 HIVE or will it devide 50 HIVE because I voted 50 times 1%?
Each comment would get 2 hive/2%.
Perfect! Tnx
I am not a new user, but I appreciate the initiative
My article has just got the commentrewarder activation for the past two weeks.
I knew about dustsweep since 2023.
I am planning to increase the percentage for beneficiary.
Have a nice weekend
Peace
Great!
Sorry but will be muting your account, this is the 3rd time you're just posting these kind of comments on my posts.
Hello @acidyo.
I'm sorry. I didn't mean to break any rules. I was just being respectful.
It comes off as insenciere and spammy, looking at the rest of your comments it's obvious you're not consuming or even trying to consume any content, just leaving comments everywhere that bring no value to the post or community. Hope you understand what I mean.
The connection in my city is of very poor quality and it's true that I don't see many of the videos, but with my comments I try to support their publication at least.
I understand what you're saying. It's just that sometimes I'm too lazy to comment in more detail or in more depth.
In my opinion, commenting without detail is worse than not commenting at all, as they don't bring any value. Especially with these one-word comments.
You must not be that kind of lazy that'd make your work look bad. Be my kind of lazy, lol. I mean if you want to do anything, do it properly or don't do it at all.
I understand what you're saying.
I don't mean to be lazy.
I'm one of those who think that sometimes a simple gesture of support is better than ignoring, and that's why I at least sometimes comment that way, with the idea of offering some of my support. I'm sorry it's not seen that way.
One is often preoccupied with a variety of issues, and in order not to ignore others, one at least tries to offer a gesture of support, that's all.
Thanks for doing this since you have higher exposure! I have tried to explain dust threshold (and other things) and how to vote when you have a small account multiple times, but I keep seeing even few of the same people who commented on those posts repeating the same mistakes.
It's a great initiative of yours to publish videos like this on YouTube. Maybe more people will find out about our wonderful Hive blockchain this way.
I can only say it again and again: CommentRewarder is a great service. Since I have very little HP, I often use CommentRewarder myself to reward the comments under my blogs. I really enjoy sharing my blogs with other people and that's one of the reasons why I write my blogs.
Is there a way to reverse calculate HP? If a user votes 10% weight on a comment (at say 80% mana), how much HP would be required to exceed the minimum threshold for that singular vote to pay out?
Oh, I answered my own question! https://hive-now.com/upvotecalc.html
!BBH
I was wondering why delete a delegation would take 5 days and not instant, got the answer
I also didn't know about the dust threshold so all new things!
