Shrimp and Crab Dip

This rich and savory seafood dip is a crowd-pleaser, combining succulent shrimp, sweet crab meat, and aromatic garlic and onions. It's a wonderful appetizer for parties or a luxurious treat for family gatherings. With the approval of little sous chefs, this recipe is sure to be a hit!

Ingredients

🍤 1 cup shrimp, peeled and deveined

🧅 1 medium onion, finely chopped

🧄 3 cloves garlic, minced

🦀 1 cup crab meat

🧅 2 stalks green onion, chopped

🧀 1 cup cream cheese, softened

🍋 1 tablespoon lemon juice

🌿 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

🧂 Salt, to taste

🌶️ Black pepper, to taste

🌿 Optional: 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning

🥖 Assorted crackers or bread, for serving

1/2 cup of mayonnaise


Instructions

1- Prep and Cook the Shrimp:

  • In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the shrimp with a bit of olive oil until they turn pink and are cooked through. Remove from the heat and chop into smaller pieces if desired.

2- Combine the Ingredients:

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked shrimp, chopped onion, minced garlic, crab meat, and green onion.

  • Add in the softened cream cheese, lemon juice, mayo and fresh parsley. Season with salt, black pepper, and Old Bay seasoning if you're using it.

3- Mix Until Smooth:

  • Use a spatula or a spoon to thoroughly mix all ingredients until the dip is creamy and well combined.

4- Bake the Dip:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the dip mixture into an oven-safe dish.

  • Bake for about 20 minutes, or until the dip is bubbly and slightly golden on top.

5- Serve:

  • Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.

  • Serve warm with assorted crackers or slices of fresh bread on the side.
