Ingredients
🍞 10g biological yeast
🥛 1 cup warm milk
🥄 2 tablespoons sugar
🥚 1 egg
🫒 ½ cup oil
🧂 1 teaspoon salt
🌾 2½ cups wheat flour (350g)
🥚 1 yolk (for brushing)
🥄 1 tablespoon milk (for brushing)
Instructions
1- Activate Yeast:
- In a bowl, combine the biological yeast and sugar.
- Add the warm milk to help activate the yeast.
- Allow it to rest until it becomes frothy and bubbly.
2- Mix Ingredients:
- Add the egg and oil to the yeast mixture.
- Beat the egg slightly before adding to make mixing easier.
- Gradually add the wheat flour, stirring continuously.
- When you’ve added about half the flour, sprinkle in the salt.
3- Combine:
- Continue adding the remaining flour in increments and stirring.
- The mixture should be loose and sticky, but that’s normal.
4- Prepare the Baking Dish:
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (356°F).
- Grease an anti-stick baking form with butter or oil.
- Pour the bread mixture directly into the form, spreading it evenly.
- If desired, form the mixture into smaller balls within the baking form.
5- First Rise:
- Cover the form loosely and let the dough rise in a warm place until it has doubled in volume, about 20 minutes.
6- Brush and Bake:
- Mix the egg yolk with 1 tablespoon of milk and gently brush the top of the risen dough.
- Be careful while brushing to not deflate the dough.
7- Bake:
- Place the form in the preheated oven and bake at 170-180°C for about 20-25 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown.
8- Cool and Serve:
- Once baked, remove the bread from the oven and apply a thin layer of butter on top for extra shine.
- Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serving.
