Small Hobby Update

Hello everyone!
I am aware I did not post and rarely did anything else on steemit the last month - but good news, I'm still here ;)

What have I done all the time? Well for short I moved to another city to begin my master's degree studies. There were some other time consuming activities a long the way, too, but nothing really of note to you out there.

This space on my table will turn into my new hobby place over the time:

Still have to decide what is possible as this is also my writing desk, PC desk and dining table.

My tyranids are way better off - they moved from the windowsill to a showcase. Definitively an upgrade.

I made some progress in painting my tyranid harpy/hivecrone (most of the parts are magnetized, so both can be assembled albeit not with every detail) and finished painting on one base of winged rippers. Their legs/arms are a pain in the ass to glue on the body but eventually I made it. The wings were slightly easier. Once I finish the basing I guess I'll post them, but this may take some time as I do not brought the basing stuff with me so far.

Anyway I went to a Games Workshop store in my new city and ended up participating in a painting contest. You have to pay 3€ entry fee. During the contest you have to paint 6 units from Games Workshop (Forgeworld is also allowed). For every unit you have two weeks to finish. At the beginning of each painting period you have to show a picture of your unprimed or primed miniature(s). If you did not manage to paint the unit during the time you have to pay a 1€ fine. At the end there will be a voting and the winner gets a coupon for the store.

Short Note: A unit can be one or more miniatures. So five Space Marines are a playable unit, a character model is its own unit and so far.

So for the first two week - starting tomorrow - I chose the Tomb Banshee, a Warhammer Fantasy/Age of Sigma miniature. I literally know nothing about this unit, but I liked the look of it.

And here are the primed parts of it:
