When the Imperfect Try to Be Perfect

It seems to me that humans have a tendency to strive to be something they think they are, acting in ways that fulfill this idea. They do this while disregarding or misunderstanding, who they truly are.

Even a human, who understands who they are, still veers away from the path on occasion. Nobody is perfect, although we all seems to try.

These ideas are what I see embodied in the art styles of @gotmeens.

I was able to buy this work of art from the artist and give it to my girlfriend.

@gotmeens, to be quick about it, starts with a trace, adds the color, and then uses a fine point pen to add the final details.

The way he begins with the abstract water colors is to me, the actions that every person chooses every day. Some are within the boundaries we view our selves as. Others, outlier actions that are completely out of character.

The fine point penmanship is the strict boundaries and expectations we put around ourselves as humans. Trying to be something we believe ourselves to be.

While @gotmeens has recently been doing more work within his fine details, I will always remember and look out for more work like this rose.

This account is meant to bring artists into the spotlight.

We are still small, we are still young but we are here to stay, give and support anyway that we can.

What would life be without art? A dull, meaningless existence.

What would art be without life? An empty, white canvas.
