Ugh no, just no, hop into the steemit.chat witness channel and get an appraisal of the opinions surrounding Jerry. I would not use his witness list as a guide, even though it has many great people in it. There are others to proxy who pay much more attention to who is doing what, than this example can provide. His reasons for picking witnesses are pretty arbitrary. I and several others I know had random banfield witness votes and we didn't even know why, then he pulled them back and we also didn't know why. He basically tends to pick people who don't call him out on his crappy tactics, for which he is totally famous or infamous, I suppose.

Fully agree @stokjockey, i have one witness @dragosroua i really like and i don't want him to lose my vote if i put Jerry as witness. I guess we just have to see on what witnesses Jerry is voting and that would be our votes as well, what you think?
I looked at that list, will put it underneath here, what concerns me is that i don't see many witnesses which are currently in the top 20 so i am afraid he doesn't vote on them because it gives him more chance to be in the top 20 :-)

That is not really what i said @englishtchrivy. I will not make a proxy-witness-vote for banfield as i see he is almost not voting any of the top 20 witnesses.
But i do give him a witness vote as i think he knows how to sell and market stuff and i am happy he has all his attention on SteemIt.

but imho .. selling and marketing Steemit is the one reason to qualify as a witness we'd be doomed cause then anyone may just as well run as one cause aren't we all doing that already?

Sorry..have to reply one more time... One seller/marketeer in the top 20 is almost a necessity imho...
I know very well about the stuff @public-eye is saying and that was a pretty bad action to say the least but Jerry is the reason i landed here on this platform, together with a zillion others. He has shown me everything i wanted/needed to know about this platform and i like him for that.
I don't like his videos and he is definitely ego-centered (which all famous bloggers are) but by doing his utterly best to lift himself up, he is taking Steemit with him and that's what we all want, don't we?

I agree that a top marketer is a necessity but not enough to qualify one as a witness imho.
edit : btw, that "zillions of others" is an exaggeration we're not even half a million yet last time I checked and TDV probably has brought more than he did
I admire your sense of gratitude and I totally understand you cause I also am thankful that I gave myself a chance to listen to TDV but you should give yourself most of the credit cause no matter how much sales pitch anyone does about Steemit if you haven't taken action and are still continuing to post - then all is in vain.

really? have you heard of his shenanagins of late? selling registration service, taking public info and trying to sell it for $200. Then when people remove their vote because of his questionable actions he doesn't say "Hey, let me earn your respect back." He just removes his vote from them(even though they are a witness without similar questionable actions. He just gets payback.)
I know he is a good marketer. And steemit is his current prime platform. I'm just not sure that it what he can do for Steemit, or what Steemit can do for him.

Nah, he's talking about the recent $50 steemit account registration debacle that Jerry pulled, then apologized for in flames, claiming he didn't know about anonsteem etc, until somebody, I think it was ATS-David or someone like that, pointed Jerry's post out from a month prior talking about none other than the anonsteem he claimed he had never heard of when backing his ass out of the 50 dollar reg shame.
