My first post on Hive: You guy's suck = )

in #witness4 years ago

A title that is probably not going to make me any friends around here, but there are certain situations where being polite doesn't get the point across.

I am referring to the exclusion list, that I am sadly not surprised has little talk over here. These steemians should be encouraged to move over here just like anywhere else.

Consider this my "proposal" for every non steemit affiliated account on that list. But really its me telling you why you guys suck.

They are just whining about not getting free stuff

Says the people happily sitting on their "free stuff". This was not an airdrop, this was a chain split. Very different things, and one of thise things is inclusion vs exclusion. You get included into an airdrop, people got excluded from this chain split.

Another difference is that with the community leaving the price of steem is likely if not definitely gunna tank majorly. Its not like a normal airdrop where the effects on your actual investment are going to be affected. The price of one altcoin isn't to likely to crash because of some airdrop of another altcoin.

They are upset because they were basically told to go fuck themselves by a community they thought theybwere apart of. But now just left with the value of their investment.

Its kind of like being left behind at the rapture.

But they are supporters of centralization

Hardly, the vast majority of that list were people voting in enough witnesses that neither side could make a hard fork. They weren't supporters of centralization, they were people who thought it was unnessisary to freeze out Suns account without even talking with him about what it was supposed to be used for.

Voting for more then two tron witnesses doesn't mean you support centralization, it doesn't even mean that you think Sun should have been free to do with it as he pleases. All it meant was that you see the account freeze to be a hostile action, and can empathize with someone trying to prevent that from happening.

This chain is a lot more decentralized then it would be under Sun, but its much less decentralized then it was before he took over. With one short exclusion list over 4 million worth over steem power was excluded. An entire communities voice just vanished.

Thats some pretty centralized bullshit.

But they can submit a proposal

The fact that they need to propose is bullcrap. Can you imagine for a moment how alienating that must feel? To must now prove your worthiness to the community you loved? Because they dared to disagree with a "pre-emptive" strike?

Some of them were mistakes sure, but the ones who were not are being told they need to ask the community for forgivness. It's ridiculous that the comunitity is freezing them out this way.

If you wanted to catch the "supporters of centralization" then the script would have been any more then 16 tron witness votes. The people caught in this list were people who thought both sides were acting unreasonably.

All you caught were the people who didnt immediately support a major and sporadic decision.

So what should be done

Be upset about this, steem was supposed to be a family right? These weren't miners, they were investors and content creators. People just like you who simply had a different opinion.

There should be no proposal system. Infact the only thing that should be proposed is an apolgy from the hive community for this bad judgement and an immediate correction.

Steem and now hive is a family and we shouldn't be excluding family. A chain split was a unique alternative to freezing out Justin. Just because you are against one, doesn't mean you are against the other.

While I do question the motives of some of the devs, I do think that Hive is a worthy cause. And even while I feel like the chain is less centralized then it was before the sun take over, it is much better then it steemit will be.

But if this is how people who made an understandable but unpopular decision are going to be treated, then it may be worse off then I fear.

Going to tag the top 20 since they are the ones in charge and @roelandp through you all under the bus as being in support of the exclusion list.
