Former president of my country, Czech Republic, Václav Klaus, wrote a book about non-existence of climate change, he believes in. It was probably the most decent president in the past years.
The true is we can not be sure. There were periods of ice and after them, the opposite happened, so changing the global temperature may be natural.
The theory is that carbon dioxide reflects the light from Earth back to Earth. Light it a form of energy, which is later transcended into heat form of energy. But here is a plot: carbon dioxide reflects the light from space back to space as well.
My very own opinion is that I have no track of enough information to judge it by myself. And we have to do something about carbon dioxide either way, it is mortal to both animals and plants, if it is in greater concentration. Only a few living bacteria species are resistant or even thrive on CO2.
And whether global warming exists or not, I am aware there used to be far more snow in the place, where I live.
