Hi guys! This is my first post using World Mappin, I am a regular user of the Actifit app on Hive. I stumbled upon High Bank Quarry organically after talking a detour from one of my favourite routes on The TransPennine Trail here in the north of England. It just seemed to be a tranquil area, off the beaten track that I thought would be worth sharing some photos from.
It it not always quite as peaceful however as the old disused quarry has been repurposed and is now often used for motorbike trials practise. It is also a popular spot for dog walkers and local rock climbers.
Situated nearby the quarry, High Bank Lane rises at a fairly steep gradient to a viewing platform located further up the fell. The path offers some lovely panoramic views for hikers and bikers alike.
