RE: Adventures In Homesteading (Day 396-461)

Sorry for all the struggling you have been going through over the years!

I do hope things get better.

As for the haters online, I think accepting & ignoring is the best course of action. Personally I don't find much of that here on HIVE but it does exist. Even more so on other corners of the web like tiktok!! I used to delete negative comments but now I see it as a good thing. Sometimes haters are actually just fans who don't have a hold on their jealousy.

I feel that jealousy in myself too when I see that other creators here on HIVE get so much higher rewards than I do, when I feel like I put more effort into my posts.

At the end of the day, though, we are all here more so for the benefits of sharing our lives. The rewards are a secondary benefit.

Sort:

I do not really get much in the way of haters. Even when I do encounter them I never give a shit about anything they have to say.

I am LOL-ing hard at the 'envy/jealousy' thing because I posses neither for anyone or anything on the planet. I just do not demean myself by making such comparisons.

My point was more that all it takes on HIVE to get shitty content upvoted with consistently high rewards is to have a large enough amount of stake for the 'whales' to feel good about cricle-jerking each other.

Like seriously watching some bougie wanker make more off a single post about their over-priced dinner (that they did not even finish eating all of) than most folks make on here in a month (or many months) of consistent posting... just shows the rot at the heart of many of these folks that do said upvoting. It has always been a problem on this platform and I have consistently called it out over the years.

As for everything else your kind words are appreciated.

Yeah I agree. The low-effort posts that get super high rewards is super frustrating. It makes me hesitant to recommend Hive to people I know (in real life or via other platforms) because I can't promise they will do well here.

Yep! 'Frustrating' is a polite way to say it. I stopped recommending the platform altogether at this point. Unless it is a developer looking for a project to work on and even then I give them a big warning that the 'whales' are mostly toxic self-serving jerks.
