EARTH’S RHYTHM

in #writing5 years ago

I am moving.
Moving with the flow.
Music of the earth.
Foot steps, the rustling of the winds, the whistling of the trees.

Sway sway sway.
Swaying my hips and my arms and my head.
My feet on virgin ground. The land of the untouched forest.
I hear a sound. This sound, undefined, replays over and over again.

Stomp!
I stomp my feet as I sway.
My body movement, the dance of the earth...
Beads of sweat, down my back, falling from my face.
Stomp, stomp, stomp.
I raise my long legs up and hit it on the ground.

My mgbají moves as I move.
Stops when I stop.
It sings it’s own song.
It creates its own sound.

All of a sudden.
The magic stops.
I stop.

Reality. I am back to reality.
My calabash is not far away from me.
Dinner, water, mother.
I remember why I am here.
