Bottling the Christmas Essence for later

in #writing7 years ago (edited)

Over Christmas, while good wishes and greetings are popping up all over my timelines, I like to withdraw from screens for a while. I actually love this time of year but sometimes it all seems a bit too much at once. It is a time to remember and thank family, friends, coworkers, clients and those who follow your pages on social media. It would be nice to bottle the essence of this month and spread it evenly throughout the year. We see more people socially and we get giddy with the sheer amount of entertainment options that coincide. Ironically, as a Christian, I find it hard to concentrate on the nativity story that is at the centre of it all. It seems Easter is the holiday that connects the nativity and the crucifixion best; I am less distracted then.

I am yet to strike a balance between living my life, working and marketing myself. Successful entrepreneurs and freelancers are careful to make sure they include their supporters in everything they do. I haven't updated my art pages for about a month (aside from my activity on Steemit). It is important to withdraw from the Internet once in a while so I will continue to guard my time with loved ones, making art I enjoy. Still, it wouldn't hurt to add some more structure to my posting habits in 2018.
