I Bought It ! Something To Inspire Me

in #art17 days ago
Hi !
It's Saturday here, almost 1 PM and like always, I'm wondering where my whole morning went too. I've worked in my general photos, deleting a lot of near duplicates and unwanted photos. I didn't mean to be doing that, but I fell in it and got caught there fore a while. I also worked on some other photos for a post where I have still been working with the collage papers. I thought I was posting that next, but as you can see.... NO. Maybe it will be next.
The dishwasher should be running, but it isn't, neither is the clothes washer. I did get a grocery delivery earlier and I did get that all in and expiration dates checked and everything put away. That's at least something I suppose.
First though, I wanted to show you this wonderful Mixed Media piece of art I bought. I didn't mean to start buying mixed media art. I didn't have any thought to do so, but after playing in the papers these last 2 months and realizing what it must take to make something REALLY nice, I was nearly instantly enamored when I saw this piece on Etsy. Good LAWD there are so many tiny pieces of paper put together to make this.

The artist is Patricia Henderson and she is in Canada. Here is a link to her Etsy page.

It's an 8 X 10 and the stretched canvas is an inch and a half thick, so it is very nice and will pretty much stand up by itself when on a flat surface.

It was more than just that it was a very bright and happy piece of art overall with it's bright red pitcher and yellow sunny flowers.
I totally loved how the related words were spread throughout it.

Shining, sun, bright, sky and music notes and song singing.
Summer ! All the little bits and pieces, meshed together to make a very cheery piece.

I know nearly every artist does flowers now and then and maybe it's because realistic or abstract, no matter how you do them, everyone still knows they are supposed to be flowers.
Look at how many assorted tiny bits. It is amazing to me. It has me wondering how long it too her to do this.

One thing I know, I can't imagine doing this much work and selling it for what I paid for it. It wasn't cheap persay, but it's no telling how many hours it took to complete this. I'm probably going to ask, in a nice way of course and not being pushy for an answer.

Even the leaves have more than one paper on them. I'm totally amazed.

A fun shot showing the texture of the surface and all the bits of paper.

I wonder how long it took her to learn and perfect this style.
I wonder if I'll ever practice enough to make something so beautiful. It certainly is an inspiration to me to keep practicing.
Ok, I'm going to pretend now that I am going to do some chores before I go back to play at my art table. The morning was gray and cloudy and I thought I wouldn't get a thing done, but at least for a moment, the sun has actually come out, so there is hope. 😆
..... and I HOPE you are having a good weekend.
Love you !

The colours and everything 😊

I checked the Etsy, it's so fun. Also, are you selling your art on Etsy or do you have your own website for your art?

Hi ! I don't sell my art online at this time. Thanks for asking though.

The artist that made this piece is truly talented it is true. :)
