A vegan perspective

in #bloglast year (edited)

As a longtime vegan, well exactly 5 years, people often ask me how I stay healthy without eating meat or dairy. Most people think a vegan diet is missing important nutrients, but my own experience proves otherwise.

Firstly, a vegan diet can be incredibly healthy when it is carefully planned and balanced. It is packed with fruits, nice green veggies, whole grains, nuts, and seeds, all of which give us plenty of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber. And thats what we really need. Also, research found that vegans are less likely to suffer from certain health problems, like heart disease and diabetes.

Secondly, some essential nutrients are harder to come by in a vegan diet, but it's not impossible to get them. I am taking supplements to get nutrients like vitamin B12, which is mostly found in animal products. And they are good for my hair. I also get plenty of protein from plant sources like beans, lentils, tofu, and chickpeas. Besides, Flaxseeds, chia seeds, and walnuts, are enough healthy fats.

Lastly, being vegan doesn't have to mean eating boring food. There are so many delicious vegan recipes out there. I like watching YouTube videos to learn how to cook delicious vegan food and I found a lots of different channels with all kinds of recipes. I can make everything from simple salads to fancy desserts and my favorite is the Avocado chocolate Mousse, yummy!
