Seriously, what exactly is the con? We upvote stuff in the #Informationwar tag. We never have offered any pay for 4 play benefits, what is the con?? How can there even be a con? No one is guaranteed an upvote and there is no membership fee or fees... So how do we con you by upvoting your content?
By constantly supporting the pre determined "fake alt news" agenda - which is what 90% of what remains of Steemit does, and that is why there are bugger all independent bloggers still posting - in a sea of CIA AI accounts, the desired stories are always supported.

I wasn't aware that the CIA was promoting approved "alt news". I know that the CIA has their own people in at CNN(Anderson Vanderbilt aka Cooper) and that when they went after Kavanaugh that Blasey Ford woman was some kind of a recruiter for the CIA.
For my own clarification, who do you think is given talking points by the CIA and putting those talking points out there?
Joe Rogan? Probably in my opinion, but he is pretty dumb.
Alex Jones? Some people say he does but I never looked to far into it.
Tim Pool? He seems to talk about everything so I wouldn't suspect him.
I know for sure Jack Dorsey and Joe Rogan are in league together(via the Cash App sponsoring Joe). Jack Dorsey also helped spread the scam that is Bitcoin by promoting the Lightning Network. Bitcoin is controlled by an investment bank called AXA, the current developers of Bitcoin(Blockstream) keep the block size at 1 MB so that they can force you to use their sidechain solutions like Lightning Network(originally built by someone else and bought by Elizabeth Stark who isn't a coder, now fundedby Jack Dorsey big money/investment banks), and the new venture by Blocksteam called Liquid.
Blockstream is literally keeping the blocksize at 1 MB despite that being 1/4th the speed of dialup(1 MB block every 10 minutes = 14.4kbps or so). We know that regular people easily stream 1080P and now 1440P which requires something like 100x that.
Thats my area of expertise. I don't follow Julian Assange or anyone. I don't see anyone as some leader to look to or anything like that.

In my paranoid view, all of the mainstream media, and entertainment industry - Fox being the most blatent, about 95% of the "alt news" - AlexJones (aka Bill Hicks) being the most obvious, and about 90% of the accounts still posting on Steemit would be either CIA/Mossad controlled, or AI or just believers.
There are popular shills all over Steemit getting lots of support but I'm not going to name them because some of the support is from whales!
And don't get me started on whales! (now, don't worry I won't say peep)
Cryptos - yes I'm a crypto investor, but certainly not a believer - I'm just taking a punt in a very dirty game - fully with you on Bitcoin being a scam - but that is the crypto I bought at 1k and sold for 17K so on the look out to do that again if the opportunity arises
