Just a few of the reasons I've heard stated as a fact why Steem will fail.
Obviously, I disagree.
I don't know who is right and neither do you.
People say things and other people repeat them.
So, seriously how are things going for you? Let's talk about it.

Still checking in every once in awhile, but hardly writing, reading, or commenting anymore. My life has been less condusive to Steem lately, but also my energy for writing blogs just to send them into the viewerless void has run out somewhat. Have been thinking about starting to write dorky blogs again. We’ll see.

I don't believe downvote will be the solution. We should need a space for strong moderation. This is what I believe. Everyone decided to moderate others by using flags and etc that might end up by a chaos and with lots of drama!
This chain has a lot to do and a lot to discuss, but with this HF, people start talk about NewSteem, Bidbots, Downvotes. I don't think those are not the primary things we all should focus at the moment. We need to bring SMT, we are already late to bring it in, but we should. We should build a strong moderation of Blogging community, we should go ahead and come up with more powerful dapps which can give a competition to FB, TWITTER and etc. But what we do now?

I have been here since July 2016, and.. I already knew about all of this shit, and ya know what? I am still here! We have built a family here! I don't refresh 100+ times a day when Steem is down because of the super amazing layout Steemit has created, but I do come back to the only digital family I have, and the only community online that I want to interact with..
The internet is infected with a disease of self pity, vanity, selfishness, and greed.. That type of content and attitude is probably not going to be rewarded much here. The community will not allow it! We came here to be different, and to be ourselves.
People want to say "But didn't Steemit have a premine!?" Yeah, but at least they are selling it back cheap to fund the community! What is Satoshi doing with their 1 million BTC??
Steem imo is the only blockchain worth a damn for me, and the rest are just great ideas, or copy cats, or still have a long way to go, and Steem is FAR ahead of everyone! So I am happy I am here and just like others who have tried to over power us.. We stood together and took them down..
Now either way I am a fan of ol Bernie because at least they say wtf they want.. They call people out on their bullshit, and point out obvious flaws we might have!
So let's all be who we are, and let the community decide what's best.. And if we don't like it, we each have a vote to make a change!

I am excited about the future of Steemit. In regards to the price of Steem, we need the major exchanges to upgrade their nodes / wallets and re-enable deposits and withdraws or buyers get impatient and dump it back.

Along with anything that anyone is good at...
It started out a hot mess.
When I'm being good at my job, it tends to end up in hot mess, not start out as one...mmmm...interesting.
Steem is like real life. Ups and Downs. There are days where I think that this is just complete utter bullshit and I question myself why am I even spending time reading updates about this chain etc. On the other hand there are days where I just love the system and everything about it.

There is a lot of meowing during a dead cat bounce. While I relate to the thoughts going through some of the minds of the rest of the little people, I am looking forward to the awesome conversations when this gets back to where I think it should be with the people who stick it out.
Besides, it is not like I can go blog and hang with friends from across the globe anywhere else.

Well i don't know about anyone else but i am staying positive i just bought another 2,000 Steem and i am steeming on...lol 😀
I bought a bit last week too. 1200, I plan on doing that more often again.
I agree it was a good move considering the low price the only problem my are still stuck in Binance because they are still doing maintenance on there Steem Wallet...Damn it ☹️
I sometimes avoid Binance by sending Litecoin or Ethereum to Block Trades and converting it to Steem. I can get Litecoin and Ethereum from an ATM, removing the need for exchanges.
That's it, just keep posting. I've also kept it that simple. Fb, twitter and all others still get me 0 dollars.

It's business as usual for me. I'm actually enjoying the response to newsteem. There are so many now searching out undervalued content that I'm enjoying sending what I find their way, if someone else hasn't already beaten me to it.

I know as long as he does what he does, my steem will not hold value.
Just had a look at his account (haven't congee that since the flag war kicked off). The payouts since the HF aren't looking to good for him. He's surprisingly persistent, though.

Honestly, I think I've gotten more organic votes now, than I ever have before on Steem.
Not sure if it's due to HF21/22, me writing better content or networking better, or the fact I have more places for my posts to get noticed on the different tribes, but for whatever the reason, I'm enjoying Steem again.

Also from all the problem list to fix on the steemit ... Do you really think downvoting should be putted on the top of the list of most important implementation to fix and address?
It’s really interesting to see other social networks going the opposite road from steemit. Hiding like counts (Instagram) and even planning to remove the like button (Facebook) after intense studies that show it can improve engagement without caring about numbers or even prevent online bullying and potencial opinion fights...
I am genuinely curious to know more details about your overall thoughts about this since you are much more active than me here and must see every day examples of good things and bad with the new implementation...
Other social media sites do not give out money, so they have the ability to exclude dislikes (downvotes) Since we do not have that ability without getting robbed blind by scammers our choices are to stop giving inflation rewards to authors or do a better job with downvotes. The choice is that clear.
Of course there is good and bad and even ugly things happening. Our internal math only matters to us. No one outside of this tiny community cares about it at all.
The thing that I want to think about is how do we get Steem and it's apps some attention.
The petty little wars don't bother me, most of it happens because our community is so small and overly personal. When and if we get more users, most of the petty conversations will fall away.
That's why I'm focused on NewSteem.
Yes that make sense. Hope your wish for the NewSteem is right. Would be great one or two years from now, check the timeline and see it was the obvious choice to bring the much needed improvements to the platform.
In my opinion, I don’t think the real problem is the numbers of users signing in. There should be a clear focus on making the platform the best place it could be for the people already here. If that happens and there more people staying that leaving more will come along, increasing the numbers in the end. In addition to that I think is better few people producing great content and adding value to the platform than just having a big number of active users but no one contributes or the ones that do are the minority’s.
Also when we speak about Money we always know it will change a bit the rules of the game as a social media. Where’s is money scammers are always getting in but even social media without money, scammers are in there. For example in terms of buying followers to increase reputation and deals they get from brands and their exposure.
With time I am curious to see if this addition of the downvoting and other feature implementation of the newsteem will really clean and make steemit a better place to get in or push away even more users that with those 'small wars' don’t feel comfortable staying and be a part of those fights.

Anyway, I'd just like to say if I'm pleased with the progress something must be going in the right direction.. As you're well aware I've been very critical of the platform for most of my lifespan, not so disgruntled to abandon it or all hope though.. We know there are issues but I'm more convinced than ever that there are in fact competent and concerned steemians that are committed to creating a better place to play and learn for all.. If only to protect their (our) investments big, or small is fine, the place has an economy, show me one economics system in the history of earth that is perfect? We are a work in progress and it's working IMHO..

I'm not concerned about Steem being shut down by the government but some governments could make life difficult for Steem witnesses in some countries.
