The Thank You Economy - Week 17 with 5 SBI Shares

It's That Time Again!

Time For Your Weekly Dose Of Heart Felt Thankfulness

Happy ThanksGiving To All The U.S. Folks...

Welcome to the  Thank You Economy a fun and engaging project where we try to promote a sense of thankfulness.  I really enjoy hosting the contest as I meet new people and awesome communities every week.

In last weeks contest we gave away 6 shares of SBI and the engagement level was a bit off, we had 26 comments, a total of 4 Participants! and 5 Engagement Bonus Entries. So it actually worked out that everyone who entered recieved an SBI share!!!

I just want to Thank Everyone again who has been participating, and resteeming the posts. I also wanted to give a shout out to the @blockbrothers witness crew for their awesome support last week. If you by chance have a spare witness vote you might think about sending it their way.

What is The Thank You Economy contest all about?(simplified version)

An Attitude of Gratitude - The Thank You Economy is simply a way to say thank you to someone who has helped you, influenced you or blessed you in some way in the Steem community.  It can be tough getting started on Steemit, and the people who have been here for a while realize that.  I could see community members helping out everywhere but what can new people do to show appreciation back?  Not much....

That's where the idea for the Thank You Economy contest arose, I wanted to do more to say thank you.

Maybe I can do more.  I thought there might be others who wanted to do the same, not to mention it's fun.

Just saying thank you to someone opens up all kinds of opportunities to interact with each other.  YOU CAN THANK ANYONE YOU WOULD LIKE....

LET'S HAVE SOME FUN

On to the Contest Rules

The Base Contest - We'll keep this simple.

  • Leave a comment on this post.
  • In the comment tag someone who has helped you or influenced you on Steemit use the @coinsandchains format.
  • Then briefly tell us why you chose them.

That's all you have to do.  (upvotes, restreems and follows are appreciated though)

One thing, please do not tag bots or alt accounts.

The Prizes and Winner Selection: This Changes almost every week

2 ENTRIES WILL WIN THIS WEEK!!!!

I'm going to pull winners on Thursday next week(day 6)so I can get this back on schedule...

  • 1 commenters will be randomly selected by the amazing prize wheel I found. The account making the comment and the account tagged in the comment will receive one SBI share each (2 total shares)
  • Most awesome or heartfelt entry - 1 commenter and their nominee will receive one SBI share each (2 total shares), this will be selected either by a guest judge or myself.
  • I will also give an upvote to each valid entry, but that does not amount to much.  Upvote your own comment if you would like, or if you have a @dustsweeper account it might help.

THE ENGAGEMENT BONUS ROUND

So we are going to have One Bonus Round this week!!!!

Bonus Round: Community Participation 1 winner!

If you know of other communities feel free to let me know in the comments. These are just the ones that I have engaged with.

Anyone who is participating in ANY of these Engaging Community Groups is eligible for an additional random drawing.

Communities:

All you need to do is Add a Tag to your comment entry, if you are participating in multiple communities each community counts as an entry!  Please use the Tags above if possible....

This week I would like to say thanks to @nikema. She also was very encouraging in my start with Steem.

Great choice, looks like she has loads of stuff going on. The Decentralized Education project is a huge undertaking, but it's a really great idea.

Hey,

Sorry that I have been busy with real life - new job.

This contest is one of the best that I know of and my support is firm.

I'll continue to co-sponsor this contest as long as it benefits #ccc members and help encourage entries as #ccc posts.

I might not have time to post current open contests weekly but please update me on the latest available.

I am also open to other forms of sponsorship and perhaps the rewards will come from @team-ccc instead.

I have enrolled a few active #ccc members in incinboost which has its advantages. please let me know on my post if you have any questions or suggestions.

I just enrolled you. Happy Thanksgiving!

team-ccc transfer 5 STEEM to incinboost @coinsandchains

Happy Thanksgiving to you as well my friend. Thank you for the incinboost too, that's pretty cool. I think I have the contest under control at the moment. I was trying to clean up the post a bit as it felt more like a billboard than a contest. I will continue to promote the CCC through the community engagement side of the contest, I dropped the other add-ons to reduce the cluttered feel. I hope you are enjoying the new job.
Thanks again for all your help and Have a blessed day my friend.

This week I would like to thank @coinsandchains. He’s holding a very meaningful contest every week. Appreciation is very important part of our life. And this contest is to show the appreciation to someone. Keeping up with the great works! Thanks you so much for this meaningful contest.

Thank you @ericet I appreciate your participation, this is honestly a lot of fun and a great way to give back to the community.

Great contest!

I am thankful for @phoenixwren for her never-ending variety of creative contests, engagement, friendship and humor.

Cheer and Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Aw, thanks so much! ^.^

Great choice my friend, @phoenixwren is always around doing crazy stuff and having loads of fun. Hope you guys had a great Thanksgiving...

Same to you! Technically your contest is Thanksgiving themed all year round!

Thank you @davidke20, teach me how to manage money.

That is always a great skill to learn and to keep learning. @davidke20 has some really interesting stuff on money and saving etc. and is a great member of the CN group... #team-cn really an awesome choice

Thanks both @aellly and @coinsandchains. For the record I did not teach anyone over their financial decision, I'm merely offering an option for them to convert their SBD at a more effective way. Pending orders works really great and often help people to struck a good deal.

Today I would like to thank @steven-patrick for all the support he gives to my promotions / giveaways and my blog in general.

@steven-patrick is an outstanding choice, He's like always there. Looks like he likes birds too. I have a couple bird posts planned that I never get to. I saved a woodpecker from the neighborhood cats a couple months ago and got some really good shots of it. I saw it run into a tree an knock it's self out, it took it 30 minutes before it shook it off enough to fly off.

I never seen a bird knock itself out before. I bet they can give themselves an awful smash while flying.

Me either, It was pretty interesting. The funny thing is it never tried to attack me or anything. Once it finally got to where it could stand up, it was ready to fly a couple minutes after.

Especially in this time of Thanksgiving, I am thankful for my wife @denisechips. I could never count all the ways in which she has helped and supported me over the decades. Particular to Steemit, she is my dear partner in helping me understand all the Steemit ins and outs. She has figured out so much of the community navigation that all the new folks take time to absorb. And she is a great friend maker and such a wonderful socialite. So many of her friends become mine too. Plus she is a super fast reader, so she digests Steem news and relays relevant stuff to me. And we have all kinds of fun conversations about various Steemit happenings. It is great to discuss things face to face. The list of her fine benefits goes on and on, but you get the point. Without Denise, my experience here and in everyday life would not be as fulfilling. I thank God for this woman.

That is an amazing comment, and you sir have a wonderful wife in @denisechips. She had an awesome answer in the last steemusa contest as well, much better than mine...

this week,
would like thank you to the head village of @team-cn,
this week is the second time village head @ericet praise me,
after i done the village homework.

You picked an awesome one to thank. @ericet has helped you guys create an awesome community, and I'm sure you deserved the praise as well. All of you guys with @team-cn keep up the great work.

I would call Punday Monday a community! And I'd like to thank @cardboard for creating @pundaymonday for me. I'm working on building my own stash of sp to the level where I can make accounts, but in the meantime I begged one from him! He also provides great customer service to @tipu delegators!

Posted using Partiko Android

That's an awesome idea, @PundayMonday. I'll add it next week...
@cardboard seems pretty cool and up on all the steem news. I need to create an account as well, just don't have the funds to fund it at the moment. I guess I shouldn't let the cat out of the bag just yet because it isn't registered yet, but it's a community idea that might do well on here.

At these prices, we can finally afford to get account creation sums!

It would be nice, but can't right now. I recently got hosed by a small company I contract for. Basically, they are not paying for 3 months of my work.... which puts a bind on stuff. I need to cash out some crypto, but not doing it in this market...

Oh no! What kind of work do you do?

Posted using Partiko Android

I have an IT consulting business I mostly work in healthcare IT. I'm just glad it was on contracts that I was working and not one of the guys, otherwise it would have been twice as bad, out the money and still have to pay the guys. It's still a heck of a hit and putting finances in a bind.

Gosh darn it! Will you be able to collect eventually, or are they going bankrupt or something?

Hy first of all its a great contest and I am thankful to @gooddream for inspiring me and urging me for producing a quality content through his generous writings .
Keep up with such interesting contest and looking forward for more to come .

@gooddream is an awesome choice and has loads of great content. A lot of it was the kind of odd-ball stuff which I really like...

Oh wow! Thanks pal. It means a lot to me to see this.

howdy sir coinsandchains! great job for doing this contest, I keep forgetting about it, where have you been and how you doing? I think I asked you that last week and I lost your reply! I never got to it and went back and couldn't find it! lol.

That's what happens when you write 1500 comments a week.
I'm doing well, I've been trying to cram as much work in as I possibly can... after the setback with the other contractor, that kind of hurt the finances a bit. I have to get the finances back on track, unfortunately, steem will not do that just yet. So the steem stuff has to take a back seat to working and making money at the moment.

howdy today sir coinsandchains! I understand about the priorities, Mrs. J does too! But you think Steem will come back? What if it bottoms out and then stays there?

I think Crypto is here to stay, It's going to have ups and downs. I think steem and steem inc. adapted slower than they should have. They just wanted to create the backbone and let others develop the frontends etc. Which is fine but you lose massive amounts of momentum with everyone going their own way creating hundreds of dApps with no real design on the future, or a slow to fulfill design on the future.

Imagine if all of these creators and programmers on here could be pointed in the same direction with aligned goals to benefit everyone, the amount of work that could be accomplished is staggering.

It will come back, but may take a bit.

ok but do you think that steem will be one of the cryptos that survive long term?
I agree that if they worked together like you said it would be amazing!

I think it will survive. Steem Inc does worry me a bit, but even if they go belly up there are enough devs and large stake holders that they could hold it together. My actual worry with Steem Inc is that they really have no clear-cut way to make a profit. They have a load of steem but if they dump large amounts it tends to crash the prices.

wow sir coinsandchains if you don't have a way to make a profit then is it even a business?

How about you, how are things going? I haven't been keeping up with the leagues are you back in the saddle yet or still taking a break?

sir coinsandchains! I've been doing well and working on some outside projects around here but it hasn't worked out the way I thought it would because then I spend half the night catching up with comments so I'm getting less sleep than before. lol.
But I've still been winning most of the League contests but I am still out of the rewards because I haven't been trying to do more commenting in fact I tried to do less and I've still been in first place. I think there were 2 weeks when I didn't take first. LIke this week I won with 40,000 points and the second place had 29.000.

I wanna say thank you all for keep believing in steem and keep steeming despite the dip in steem price. Many have given up on the way but you guys keep making steem lively... Thank you all.

Well, You see real quick why people are here when the price drops this low. I'm not really making anything from steem that would make a difference where I live so, I'm here for the fun at the moment... Maybe one day it will pay off, until then I will enjoy hanging out and chatting with friends and making new friends.
It may pay off on some of my bucket list travel plans, and I can travel and visit friends around the world.

Good to hear that. But some are here for the pay. I know a number of them who have given up. Even my friends who started out with me have looked for other alternatives.

Happy Black Friday!
