Steem Basic Income is a social experiment to bring a basic income to as many Steemians as possible. Members join by sponsoring others into the program. Steem Basic Income is delivered through providing regular upvotes to member content.

Contests, Giveaways and Raffles!

We’re barrelling through May, hurdling over the contests as they roll in. Make sure to take some time and see how many SBI shares you could win by reading the whole list before they roll on by!

If you’re a contest owner, be sure to check out the next section before looking at the rest of the list.

Not seeing your contest on the list?

Here are some hints for getting your contest listed:

First thing to note is that the person making the list, @ntowl, only speaks English. If I can’t tell that SBI shares are part of the prize then I won’t list it. I will try Google Translate but it doesn’t always work. In fact, it hardly ever works with anything posted on Partiko (that I’ve tried anyway).

So help yourself by helping me and explain the prize pool, rules and SBI shares somewhere on the post in English. Even if I can’t read the rest I’ll include it if I can be sure you’re offering SBI prizes (which I reserve the right to verify after the contest ends - no sneaky bait and switches please).

Second, once you’ve made the SBI prizes clear, the best way to get noticed is to post it in the contest channel in the SBI Discord server. I’ll list any contest that meets the conditions and appears on this list between editions. So to get into the Monday edition you need to post after Thursday evening (usually) for example. If you don’t post in the SBI Discord and just use the tag, you may or may not get listed depending on how many I find on the Discord channel.

Wednesday Walk

Quite a few industrious Steemians run contests regularly. Here is a list of the ones we know about at the moment. All of these have been running for months so you can count on their posted schedule.

Be sure to check each account and look for the contest name as the links change each week. Also remember to read the full contest description as the rules and prize values sometimes change.

@freewritehouse

The folks over at @freewritehouse run three contests each week. All of them are designed to encourage community engagement and highlight other's work. Besides the prizes from the @freewritehouse account, they are always interested in hearing from anyone who will sponsor a contest and so they can offer even bigger prizes.

A Favorite Freewrite You Read contest runs every Tuesday for just 24 hours. You need to read some freewrites written (you can read this post to see what they are), and then comment on the contest posts about which ones you liked best and why. If they choose your comment you win units of SBI.

Recommend your Favorite Freewrite Poem is a poetry version of the Favorite Freewrite contest and it runs every Friday. Make a comment about a freewrite poem you loved and you could win SBI units. But be quick! When Friday is over, so is the contest - until the next week that is.

We-Write is a new challenge where two writers create a single story using the freewrite prompt. It runs every other Wednesday with a prize of 10 SBI divided among winners.

@bananafish

Finish the Story Contest is run by @f3nix via the @bananafish account which now hosts the contest which runs every Wednesday. He posts the beginning of a story, and you finish it. Then you post your complete story for everyone to read. One of the prizes is SBI units. The important thing to know about this contest is that it's an ongoing creativity workshop, so if you miss one deadline you can participate in the next.

Mizu No Oto is founded on the belief that every image has a haiku. It’s an @bananafish contest curated by @marcoriccardi, a real haijin (haiku poet) and it's a great occasion to learn this form of poetry.

Paying it Forward

In the spirit of helping new Steemians, this contest focuses on curating great content and is run by @pifc. It runs weekly on Mondays and asks that you find two "High Quality Original Content Blog Posts" to recommend for curation. Four judges decide which recommendations were the best and multiple winners get SBI units. Follow @pifc to see the latest contest post and read it for full details.

ZapFic Writing Contest

Like super short stories? Try writing one in 232 characters or fewer for your chance to win SBI in this contest run by @felt.buzz. Every Wednesday he posts a new prompt to use for your very short story. You can post your story wherever you want, just make sure to keep it under 232 characters.

Caption Contest

Help celebrate digital art by creating creative captions for the week’s selected picture. Read all the rules carefully to be sure your entry qualifies for the SBI prizes.

Thank you economy

Every week you can visit the Thank You Economy contest and tag someone who has helped you. When you do, both of you could win SBI units from the ever growing prize pool!

MeatyMondays!

@steemexplorers is a project operated by @jonnyla08 and the “Monsters Madness Giveaways” team which aims to consistently help others find resources to improve their Steemit user experiences, network with other community members and achieving personal growth. How to get on the recurring contest list

Do you run a regular contest that you’d like to see in our recurring contest section? We have some simple criteria you need to have to be included:

• SBI units must be part of the prizes given out.
• Contest needs to be running 5 weeks or 10 contests on a consistent schedule, whichever comes first.
• Meet Contest King’s no upvote, no resteem, and no follow conditions.

If you think your contest qualifies let us know in the comments or on our Discord channel and we’ll check it out.

Enrollment

If you want to get involved, or to increase the basic income that you receive, enrollment is pretty straightforward:

Just send 1 STEEM to @steembasicincome. Include the name of a Steemian to sponsor in the transaction memo (preceded by @). You and the person you sponsor will each receive 1 unit in the program. You can sponsor any active Steemian, it does not have to be a current member.

The official currency for enrollment is STEEM. If we choose to accept SBD without refunding it, you do not receive extra value for it.

Enrollments are processed automatically every 144 minutes. Confirmation transactions are still manual and typically are sent within 2-3 days. Even if you have not received a welcome transaction, you can check your status using !sbi status.
