Rosie my dog

I am trying to broaden my subject matter a bit. Thought I would write a little piece about Rosie, our family dog. Rosie is about 6-1/2 years old based on our best reckoning. We picked her from the pound back in November 2012 but her age was a little nebulous, they told us she was 1-1/2 or 2 but she was still a puppy and we are guessing she was more like 6-8 months old.

This picture was from about 3-4 years ago, taken by a professional photographer for a PitBull project she was working on.

Rosie is a great dog although she gets into trouble on occasion. She is mostly a house dog and loves to sleep. She has had both her rear knees operated on, so she is not an inexpensive animal for a pound dog. The first, her right rear was done in 2013. This past Christmas we had to have her left knee fixed. Here she is recuperating, you can see the shaved area of her leg. She is still a little tentative on this leg.

Sometimes Rosie gets to be the backdrop for my beer pictures! :)

She likes to visit with her cousin, Lola, @jakeybrown 's dog. This is both at Jakes house.

Pitbulls are famous for their tendency to lay flat on their bellies with "frog legs" splayed out behind them.

She also loves Jake's daughter Mila, but she can get a bit "lickey", too much most of the time.

I try to get some videos of her in action. Here are a few, the first if her listening to the ground to see if she can hear the little rodents under the ground, which she will try to dig out, She fanicies herself quite the hunter.

She also loves ice cream.

And she doesn't drink water, she tries to bite it!

and finally, here she is in the back yard trying to get the squirrel friends who are always teasing her. She made those holes in the fence so she could see the neighbors.
