HelbizCoin ICO - Decentralized Transportation

in #ethereum6 years ago

These guys came with a cool idea. Vehicles that you own usually you use for less than 4% time. Now you will be able to rent them to your peers with zero problems and get paid for it easily.

The idea more closely

They are creating a seamless way of renting out your private parked car, bike or motorcycle to your peers on the time that you don't use them without having to deal with communication or keys. It seems most of the vehicles we use on average just 4% of the time, so the idea is to make them earn money in the remaining 96%. By using blockchain everything is instant, paper-less and easy.

This video explains it nicely.

Now unlike other firms that do car-sharing, they want to add all vehicles, make it easy to use and fully trustless with ERC20 token on top of ecosystem and smart contracts use in the project.

ICO

So they made cool video explaining how to get tokens. Pretty much you need to use CVC (Civic app) and then buy it with ETH, BTC or USD.
1 ETH = 6000 HBZ

Transportation on the blockchain. Sweet!

I know right!

Just the beginning... The whole industry will move to the blockchain :)

Don’t like idea. Maybe they can work like rent a car,not like uber. You can’t attack uber if you can’t pick up and drop car wherever you want.

HAHa, everything in the world is having ICO!

This is the beginning of the new world. Sharing vehicles, selling stored solar energy to each other, streaming money... we are still in the super early adopter stage

This is a great idea but I’ve always had concerns about lending out my vehicle. What if it’s returned damaged, or dirty, or the user smokes in it etc. I’m not sure how you overcome these issues. Plus it just doesn’t feel right to lend out my car to a stranger! It’s definately the way forward though. In a few years, most people won’t own a car, they will just use these type of services in a similar way to using a taxi today.

Thats the point! people will stop owning cars and use a service like this which ownes the cars.

HelbizCoin is good ICO 2018
Good post @kingscrown

After working on cars for almost 20 years i can 100% say no way in hell i would allow strangers to drive my car. People are slobs and they would without a doubt drive your car like they stole it. I mean who hasn't drove the wheels off of every rental car they have been in?

YOUR car... but what if you got a cheap car that runs well and looks nice for a good deal ?

Wise asset allocation. No different than renting a house to someone.

I agree, additionally that 4% of the time, its often at the 2 same times of the day, everyone (well, many people) has to go to work and get there at 9:00, and they want to go home at 5:00, so if you think you're going to get by with 4% of the cars, I think that's wrong. Your still going to need more cars at those times, and then you will still have a bunch of idle cars in the middle of the day and in the middle of the night.

I think this solution can work for some people, ie pensioners etc but I don't see it working for the majority.

Finally I don't think something like this needs to be, or belongs, on the block chain. Cars are all registered etc, its not something that is or needs to be decentralized.

yes a lot of the user times would deffinatly be at the same times. you would also have ot worry about some D bag taking it to the bar and wrecking it while drunk and then you are out a car that insurance will not cover and a bunch of lawsuites from the family that your car killed will surely file.

You make a good point mate
I'm worried about using fake id's to steal peoples cars

Oh hell i didn't even think about that one. I was more worried about my car getting trashed, not about it getting stolen.

did you see the investors and advisors...
2 rich guys from dubai or the arab emirates....Showing a luxury yacht and an airplane...
who do they thing is using their cars less than 4% of the time?

This is a dead one from the start

It's a great inovative idea. Now we can utilize our car most profitable.

There are people who do well with sharing what they have.
Having a community car.

And there are other people who's car is basically a giant sound proofed, personal space that doubles as a brief case.

For many people, the automobile is far cheaper than any time constraints of not having their vehicle at hand.

I like the idea of HelbizCoin, but I feel that only about a quarter of people in urban areas will be their audience. But that may be enough.

Chances are they saw a need that needs to be met in the market, I may want a mobility service but I cannot afford a first or second hand vehicle, why not just lease it for that period I need the vehicle? But something else also, what of fuel, maintenance, who bears those costs? HelbizCoin? Customer?Manufacturer?

All in all HelbizCoin saw a need in the market, they are trying to meet it.

bbbllpttt.jpgWow, what a dumb idea for anyone who values their vehicle, or needs to depend on it... The insurance rules between municipalities, license and registration checking.. And the absolute trmoil will be right through the roof.

who the world would rent out there own new private car with the chance of getting it back destroyed, with the value depreciated, or not getting it back at all because of theft or accident.... And on the other hand if the car is older andnot kept up to date, who is going to rent it and if it is older and breaks down how do you adjudicate who is responsible....

We all know the old joke of the moron driver who drives with the warning light on, and then the engine blows up. Or worse whay happans if the sensor is broken and the renter doesn't know it?

Not so fast. This may seem like a good idea at level 1 - the basic level.

Here are the issues:

  1. The type of insurance you will need to buy to protect your vehicle, the occupants and the public. Not many plans will support an unlimited list of 'nameless' drivers.

  2. Usage of the car - you will have no clue how the car will be used. For delivering banned substances, as a getaway car from a bank heist (Baby Driver!) and for any form of criminal activity. Perhaps even for a romantic car romp (eew!).

  3. Care for the car. You seriously expect a stranger to take care of the car as you would? Not drive at high speed over road humps? Drive with the accelerator floored? Rapid start and stops wearing out the brake pads?

  4. Cleanliness. What's to stop the users of the car from consuming food & drinks? Spillage of fluids. Infestation by vermin - cockroaches.

  5. Availability. Will the car be availble when you need it? Or will you be stuck with premium pricing during peak usage hours?

As a public facility, this may not work very well.

It may work on a federated/consortium blockchain where the users are registered & known to the owner. The owner may need to install in-car & dashboard cams and the renters need to agree to the loss of privacy.

I don't know. Perhaps not the best use case?

seems very nice thing coming up. car sharing/renting using blockchain is awesome stuff but will the rider(person who soever you rent) take care of car as his own . Returned car may be full of damage and scratches.

That sound pretty much cool idea and with the combination of civic coin for the identity proof of both parties, I wonder how they manage the assurance that nothing will going to happen like car thefts, renting the car with out returning it that civic coin will take big part of this role, let see what going to happen, pretty cool!

I'm thinking they will probably have to use a collateral locked in a smart contract
you damage the car you lose the collateral

or maybe even community owned cars

Decentralised cryptocurrency would surely be trending the future and really they have better usage as compared to normal..... For eg : dtube for YouTube, zappl for twitter, fillex also for YouTube and many more I feel there are potentially very strong coins so hope cryptomarket overtakes everything fingers crossed........ Loved your article keep steeming

Great idea for this work. I appreciate it.
Great to share

This Really nice one and true you always make a good post sir thanks for sharing sir

This is an excellent idea in theory, but their kyc and insurance policies need to be 100% rock solid. Im going to wait on investing in them until they get a little more traction, may be too late to make alot but i try to hold coins i think will be beneficial years down the road rather than months. So definitely caught my eye, id love to be able to rent out my vehicle that way. It would be really beneficial.

I couldn't agree more. My rules for owning a coin:

  1. Is it disrupting an existing and successful business?
  2. Or are they solving a big problem that needs solving?
  3. Do they have the team to pull it off?
  4. Will it be able to be dominant?

There is already another crypto with an app that directly competes with the Ubers of this world. Will they be able to overcome the liability/insurance issues. How will they be able to know the condition of the vehicle before and after it's rented?

Nice knowledge and your work

Nice - exact copy of Getaround but tokenized

thanks for the share!

a very useful post @kingscrown my friend just can upvote and resteem.

goodluck

I will most certainly look deeper into it. Thanx for the heads up. 💪

renting out my extra room is one thing...do I really need the extra money to rent my car out though? Probably not for me. Great post!

Great post about cars really good to know about it thanks for Sharing

great idea.i appreciate it....

Wow!!! This sounds an awful lot like airBnB? So am I understanding correctly by thinking that anyone will be able to offer up their vehicle as a rental? I am thinking that this would all be regulated through peer to peer smart contracts and that ultimately the high cost middle man will be cut out completely.
If this is the case then there will be an incredible amount of interest in this platform. I'm already thinking of those people who are in and out of town on business for just a day or two, there are many people that choose to drive because once they arrive on a trip they will need a car. If the cost and middle man was reduced then this would be more reason to fly. I will be watching closely as this one develops and comes to market. Great share and Thank you.

It is a great idea but there is a risk because of technology. Stealing car can be possible by hacking.

This Ico looks decent! Check out Darico coin too! imageDarico is backed by gold, Bitcoin, and Ethereum! Another coin im really excited about, is Bytecoin! I strongly believe 2018 will be the year of the anonymous coin! With the government breathing down everyone's neck wanting a piece of everyone's pie, why wouldn't you put your assets in a stable coin like bytecoin!? Great post, thank you.. image

very nice post..
thanks for sharing..

Your overpaid shitposts by dumb auto-upvoters sucks

It would be a great idea but there would be some issues which need to be addressed first.

It's seems a good idea to me.instead on standing the vehicles useless we can earn some good amount by giving them for rent.

Nice combo of sharing economy and descentralization! I'm gonna look into this

Who is willing to share their lambo? Anyone?

Great idea, I recently came across a discussion on the circular economy and how one company is offering a 'mobility' service to customers. The car is still the central product but all the hustles of owning a car (fuel, maintenance costs) are bore by the company. You as the customer just sign a lease agreement with the company and you just drive off.

From the article and video I see helbizcoin are doing what other car sharing business arent, they are concentrating on the users by combining a user oriented business model with a result oriented business model, really innovative. Thank you for sharing this , steemOn!

This is a seemed to be one of the biggest ICO coming . Awesome idea.

I really like this idea. I'll be watching these decentralized services closely and experimenting with them when I can.

Beautiful post
