Hello Golemancers,

We're thrilled to announce a significant update to Golem Overlord, bringing a host of improvements and new features to enhance your gameplay. From a revamped landing page to streamlined currency management, this update is designed to elevate your journey through our post-apocalyptic fantasy realm.


The Landing Page Revolution

  • New Landing Page: We've completely overhauled the landing page. New players will now be greeted with comprehensive information about the game, providing a clearer understanding of what lies ahead, instead of the previous login mask.

Currency and Hive Integration

  • Database-First Currencies: All in-game currencies have been migrated to a database-first approach, enabling smoother, nearly instant transactions for upgrades, scav golem enhancements, reputation increases, and more.

  • Withdrawals to Hive: Players can now directly withdraw their currencies to Hive, streamlining the process and enhancing the overall experience.

  • Future Login Methods: This update sets the stage for the implementation of alternative login methods, significantly broadening our potential audience.

Medium-Scale Improvements

  • UI Overhaul: Nearly all modals have been redesigned for a cleaner, more intuitive interface.

  • Maintenance and History Enhancements: A new maintenance page, wallet histories, and upgrade histories have been added for better tracking of your activities.

Smaller Fixes and Enhancements

In our relentless pursuit of perfection, we've implemented a plethora of smaller fixes and improvements to refine Golem Overlord's gameplay and interface. Here's a comprehensive list of the enhancements we've made:

  • Burning Mechanism Updates: Changed how burning internally works to streamline the process.
  • Forge Sigils: Sigils now reload automatically after use, enhancing the crafting experience.
  • Shard Transaction Precision: Fixed precision issues in shard transactions for more accurate gameplay.
  • Layout Bugs: Addressed and fixed several weird layout bugs, improving the overall UI/UX.
  • Landing Page Loading Screen: The loading screen on the landing page is now fixed to the screen, ensuring consistency.
  • Deposit Notifications: Deposits now generate a notification and log an activity, keeping you informed.
  • Scav Golems Hover Effect: Fixed an issue where scav golems would cut off on hover, improving visual consistency.
  • Wallet Modal Sizing: The wallet modal now adjusts its size appropriately when another modal is already open.
  • Mobile Compatibility: Fixed several issues to ensure a smoother experience on mobile devices.
  • Pass Gain Modal: Addressed issues with the pass gain modal for clarity and usability.
  • Hive Engine Balance Notifications: Balance changes on Hive Engine now clearly mention their platform in the notification for better awareness.
  • Ingame Transfers: Transferring in-game items or currency now prompts a notification for the receiving party, ensuring transparency.
  • Activity Log Verbosity: Activity logs now correctly utilize the term "PART" for precise communication.
  • Game Background: Introduced a new standard background for the game, enhancing the aesthetic appeal.
  • Account Change Modal: Ensured the account change modal always resizes appropriately for a consistent user experience.
  • Backend Monitoring: Increased backend logging and monitoring for withdrawals and deposits for security and reliability.
  • Currency Popovers: Reworked currency popovers for better information display and interaction.
  • Quest Condition Fixes: Specifically addressed the "burn part" quest condition to only trigger on part burns, not component burns. The same fix has been applied to the "burn shard" condition.
  • Pass and Unlock Reward Modal: Redesigned this modal for a more engaging user interaction.
  • Loading Screens for Modals: Reintroduced several loading screens for modals to manage user expectations during loading times.
  • Market UI for Smaller Screens: Made adjustments to the market UI to ensure it's accessible and readable on smaller screens.
  • Wallet History Precision: Changed the precision on wallet histories to 4 for more detailed transaction records.

As we continue to evolve Golem Overlord, we have a plethora of ideas brewing. While the following roadmap items are not set in stone and do not follow any specific order, they represent the direction we're excited to explore:

  • Yixn's Trinkets & Airdrop Model: Launch of new trinkets with an innovative airdrop model to enrich the in-game economy and player experience.
  • Golem VIP: A Quality of Life (QoL) monthly subscription aimed at creating a steady revenue stream while offering players exclusive benefits.
  • Varied Scavenger Golems: Introduction of different kinds of Scavenger Golems, each with unique attributes and abilities, to spice up the scavenging process.
  • Guild Buildings and Research: Implement blueprint NFTs for guild buildings and research, adding a new layer of strategy and community engagement.
  • UI Enhancements: Continuous improvements to the user interface to ensure a seamless and intuitive gaming experience.
  • New Game Mode: A completely new game mode that integrates most aspects of the current gameplay, promising a fresh and immersive experience.

A Big Maybe: Time-Limited Challenge Leagues

We're contemplating an intriguing addition: time-limited challenge leagues. This concept hinges on starting anew while retaining your inventory, equipment, level, and prestige. These leagues would be strictly free-to-play, with accelerated gameplay dynamics and unique leaderboard rewards. However, the currency earned in these leagues would not be tradable, focusing purely on skill and strategy.

Special League Features Could Include:

  • Accelerated claim times and possibly cheaper upgrades.
  • Each league might come with specific rules, such as double income from attacks, randomized scavenger decay, or skill buffs/debuffs.

This idea is still in the conceptual phase, and we'd love to hear your thoughts on it. If there's enough interest, we might delve deeper into this with more information and a potential timeline.

Please note, this challenge league concept is distinct from the new game mode mentioned earlier. We're eager to gauge community interest and feedback before making any concrete decisions.
