RE: Insects I found recently in our yard/Die Insekten, die ich vor Kurzem in unserem Garten erwischt habe

I am in the United States, in the epicenter of the epidemic in this country, New York, and in the epicenter of the New York epidemic, downstate. Also, in a high-risk group so I haven't stirred for weeks. That's OK, I usually don't go out a lot anyway and my kids keep me (and my husband) well supplied. But still, the death figures, though decreasing, create a kind of cloud around everyone. And every now and then there is a death close by, so the temptation to go out is easily resisted. Not complaining at all, but I thought it might be interesting for you to get an idea of what it's like here in the epicenter.
How prevalent is the virus in your locale? Do you have a sense of immediate danger or does that seem remote?
It is these first-person accounts that some day will form a historical record (I'm a history buff and read an lot of first-person accounts. I find them the most reliable of all reports.)
Hope you don't mind the long answer--I have time :))
Stay healthy..good luck to all of us.
