RE: Architecture, Trees and More from Ritsurin Garden | 更多栗林美景

Japanese architecture never ceases to fascinate us! This type of design character inspires me so much because of its minimalistic vibe, simple aesthetic, practical functionality, plus the healing ambiance of nature. Never been to Japan but longing to travel there soon. 😊

What do you love about Japanese architecture @itchyfeetdonica?

Japanese architecture is such a broad concept. There are various styles over a long history, but yeah, I agree with what you said there. :)
I'm a big fan of the traditional wooden structures like the sukiya style teahouse in this post. It gives me inner peace.
I like how their architecture has evolved with influences from others such as China and the West, and has integrated well with the nature and local culture.

That's absolutely true. Japanese architecture is an interesting fusion of various design influences from the East and West. And I simply love the final results especially when merged with the natural environment. Wood is one of my favorite building materials as well because it's organic and produces the desired sense of warmth in built spaces. Indeed, if tranquility is what you're after, then their architectural character surely meets the criteria. 😊
