How many people have crossed the threshold of our Airbnb since it first opened its doors nearly ten years ago?
Possible to get the stats, but a load of work as we're on many booking sites. Plus, there are direct bookings. It would have been way easier if I'd been using our channel manager - the 'all-in-one property management solution Nightsbridge from the outset.
Suffice it to say, there have been many feet crossing that threshold, so it is impossible to remember everyone.
Hubby and I have been the only hosts they've known at Lily's Cottage, so naturally, they remember us me.
Although there are still many, young and old, who keep calling me Lily, so I just give up. I'm Lily to some guests!
When returning guests book, I recognise the name, but cannot put a face to everyone. When they arrive, it all comes back. But, then I cannot always remember the partner's name! Nor if they're here for swimming, cycling, running, or whatever else!
I try and talk around it, asking the main guest: 'Hi, what have you guys been up to?'
...in the hope that he or she will mention the other's name...and also tell me about their preparation for whatever sporting event they're here for.
If I'm still none the wiser, I'll be open and say I'm having a 'blond' moment, or rather, blame the grey hairs for clouding my memory! It is true after all!
On the other hand, have you ever bumped into an acquaintance who recognises you and stops to chat, but you cannot remember their name? Those are very awkward moments!
Worse if you can't even remember them, right? It happened to me once or twice, even before the grey hairs started sprouting!
Some people leave a lasting impression, and one simply cannot forget them. I guess it's the ones who stop to have a chat, excitedly tell me what event they're here for. I love talking, but some of my guests outdo me! All very special people!
It's still difficult when guests return and ask where my darling hubs is. But it's getting easier to answer the questions, and it brings back bittersweet memories.
Even though I cannot remember all their names, I will miss the interaction with the special people who have been guests here at Lily's Cottage, many who left lasting marks in my heart!

I still remember faces, but I'm so bad with names... lol... I suppose that I need at least 2-3 seeing and chatting in different timeframes to be able to memorize someone's name... 😂 On the other side, I think people do understand if you forget their names as you interact with many more people than an ordinary person...
In the end, names aren't important so much as a nice word, gesture, with good intentions... So, don't worry about the names... I bet your guests don't mind if you forget some... 😃

Hi @ph1102, at least peakd reminds us who we're talking to😅
You're right, the important thing is how one interacts with people. I also need to have a couple of good chats with someone before the name sticks!
I had a funny situation once where a guest booked a second time and messaged me saying she was in a new relationship, so it's not X coming with her, and I mustn't use his name🫣 Very awkward for her, I was silently amused🤭
Thank you for the awesome support 🤗
hahahah... I'm grateful for that! Transparency rulez! 🤣
Hahahahaha... That must have been awkward... 🤣 But, people do understand if you forget... 😉
I think she was very worried I'd forget, so wasn't the usual chatty person😆
Give me a number I normally remember it, names have always been a problem, without anything to blame.
Great to have your son visit, some time to arrange yourself in between everything still to be done, hope this transition goes easier as you move along.

Funny I also remember numbers, not good with names!
We're up the coast with family for a birthday celebration, been awesome. Back home tomorrow, then only a few days and the kids fly back. A real whirlwind visit but fabulous.
Hope the break was excellent, great to have the family visit no matter how long. Will chat when we both hit ground for a few minutes.
It is funny when you have no recollection of meeting someone especially if they are of the type that thing they are god's gift to whatever!
I am pretty sharp on names and Mrs T with faces.
It is a bit unsettling,
You and Mrs.T make a good team!
Yes, I've met some of those, they can stew in their own juices!
Stew in their own juices ... oh I like that term Lizzie and haven't heard of it for years!
I was a teacher for many years, and I liked learning a student's name. I felt there was more respect when I addressed them by their first or last name, whichever was easiest for me to remember.
I consider the exercise I did to be important for my brain.
When I see someone on the street and recognize them, I call them, and they're surprised at my memory. Oh! But I've failed a few times, and it makes me sad; it's not pleasant when someone changes your name.
I like to remember. It's impossible for me to remember them all, but when I get it right, it's very pleasant for them and for me.
Best regards.
I can imagine the number of people you've met throughout your career as a teacher, @charjaim. I'm sure you've helped shaped the lives of many, what a privilege! (Teaching was my original plans in my last year of school, but life had other plans for me)
I'm sure they must be very appreciative that you remember their names.
It also makes one feel special when someone you don't really know, remembers one's name.
Have a wonderful Tuesday @charjaim 🤗
A big new life is waiting for you Lady Lizzie, and we know that you have the courage to face it.

Come get MOONed!
Salud y saludos.
Mother: combination of sweetness and love, grace and tenderness, richness and value, beauty and truth. This is the greatest, unique, supreme being.
In her are agglutinated the true feelings, the absolute greatness, the will to all test, the eternalized love. The mother is a being of present, of perennial permanence, of permanent need. The second Sunday of the month of May is unfairly dedicated to her, when in fact her day is covered by the entire almanac.
The mother is the only being capable of being unfaithful and at the same time to be admired, because she loves all her loved ones with the same intensity of your whole being.
Once they compared life with the mother and thought that life would win, but lacking the warmth of your presence, the goodness of your soul, your virtue, your sweetness, your judgment, your permanent understanding, life surrendered to you and said: There is nothing greater than the mother because it is she who begets life and love.
Many congratulations on this special day.
Greetings and salutations.
