RE: Are you building your nest egg like the swans?

All swans in the UK are protected and believe it or not over 90% actually belong to the Queen!
They tag them to keep a record of them, and see how they are breeding, the numbers etc.

They are so cute, and really they have personalities and they do remember and recognise people, I know that from interacting with some of them. I like to name them:)
thank you for commenting, I like to have fun stories when I use their pictures, their posts pay for the special food that I buy them:)
Have a fantastic Friday and a wonderful weekend :)

It's very funny that. Thanks for that important information. wow they almost all belong to the Queen! That would never have occurred to me.

I also didn't know that they can get to know people. So you do very well to name them, because it's like you make a friend, if you see him again.

How cute they are, and knowing those details about them makes me appreciate them more. Thank you very much for that information.

I am lucky there is a park about five minutes walk from my house. That has two swans, I call them Susie and Stevie Swan, last year they had six babies and I called them cutiepies. The swans that I wrote about on this post are a little further from me, so this is only the second time that i have met them. Over time they will get to be more friends.
Yes owned by the queen! That is funny, isn't it!

That was Susie and Stevie Swan with their six children last year!

They ate a beutifull family.
yes, you really are lucky to have a lake so close. I have an artificial lagoon very close as well where there are turtles, a slime (which is like a small crocodile?), different types of birds. But there is one in particular that catches my attention, they are curlews. I always see them in pairs, and the The male scares us away, we don't even know it's there, the mother is in a nest or taking care of the little babies, but sadly we see how these babies disappear day by day, I don't know what happens to them, if another animal eats them, no I know, but without a doubt enjoying nature is a great privilege.

I think I'm going to copy your custom of naming the swans, it's very cute

It is a shame how the babies disappear, nature can be cruel to us. Yes I am sure that other animals or bigger birds will eat them.
The lakes here have many ducks and they have lots of little ducklings that disappear to:(
Oh turtles that is cool and the little crocodile, that is very cool, maybe that is what eats the babies?
You should name the birds and animals, it is fun and I swear some of them know their names:)
