I started a YouTube channel years ago, but I realised people seem to like you in front of the camera. I'm not that kind of person so I ended up just uploading photos. For several months now I've lost interest in it. I feel as though you have to jump through hoops to get monetized. I love Youtube though. Most of my viewing is on there. Do you like to be in front of the camera?
It depends on the type of channel, I think. People like idols and role models and such but that's not really my personality. I have some videos with me when Bo stands on my head but that's pretty much it.
Ah the attention span... I think shorts and tiktok and the likes of twitter have ravaged people's attention span and some can only focus for 15 secs or less. A good thing I have noticed is that some on YouTube are bucking the trend and going for even more long form content which is good as I often listen to them like podcasts when at work.

Yeah, I too am a victim of the short attention span. I feel lucky though that I was raised with minimal television exposure. I think it wired my brain a little differently and I feel less prone to getting sucked into the stare-and-swipe drug. Not immune, though, sadly.
I was thinking about it today how maybe if enough of the kids gets sucked into #screenlife humanity will get sidetracked and start giving the rest of the planet a little break.
Think of those who did great things.... If they had given up because they were not understood from the beginning. Today we would not have their great contributions.
There is a natural process that happens as we do.... We improve and new ideas come in. The one that will fill your nest with golden nuggets is just around the corner. But if you stop, you won't get it.
You have a good point. Maybe a new idea will come in, or maybe more of the older generation who are my biggest audience will find my channel. But there is the matter of time and how I want to spend it. If growth and/or evolution don't happen, that's an extra ten plus hours a week I could invest in something else to nourish my soul.
