RE: Controlled Opposition and Divide and Conquer

in Economics3 years ago

I like the idea of economies being dominated by many small businesses. I believe small business can provide good outcomes for people in terms of a more motivated working environment and more choice in terms of goods and services. Small businesses should be able to compete with big businesses if success was purely about meeting customers needs and wants. However, business and politics are intertwined. Big businesses have been given the upper hand and the gap in size and wealth between the big and small keeps growing. It has reached a point where it is going to be very difficult for this gap to ever be bridged.

I doubt the gap will ever be bridged. This is because it differs a lot. The big businesses wants to maintain the monopoly they enjoy from the government and hence making it difficult for smaller businesses to thrive as a result of government laws and reforms which are majorly in the advantage of this huge business. I for one feel there should be competition so that at the end of the day exploitation will reduce and monopoly wouldn't thrive.
