Hi Everyone,
As I mentioned in my last food blog, I have been trying to eat many oyster meals. This time, we went to have soba noodles with oysters. This place specialises in soba noodles which is perfect for BB E as he is gluten intolerant so he could have plenty without having any issues. Hubby was at work so I took the kids to enjoy the meal.
The menu was limited as they only made a small amount of variety but that didn’t affect their business, there were so many people inside. BB M ordered a chicken with turnip dipped soba, BB E ordered a duck soba and I ordered oyster soba noodles. Although the oyster soba cost the most out of the 3 of us, the price was still way cheaper than what would be charged back in Australia. For 1760 yen including tax, it was such good value.
The food came together and we were just amazed at the sizing of it. For a moment, I thought we weren’t able to finish, luckily the two boys were super hungry, they would eat anything noodles so finished it with no issues. The boys loved the dipping soups, BB E even started drinking it even though it was a bit too salty. He added a little bit of water to it to dilute and he loved it. The oysters in my noodles were very fat and milky, such good quality. The best part of my soup is they added some citrus peels to it, gosh made the soup super tasty.
The service here was very good even though they were very busy. Seating was comfortable but make sure to come just before lunch time to avoid any lines. The location is right on top of Osaka station, very easy to get to. Soba isn’t a very popular part of Japanese cuisine but I would have to say people are missing out if they don’t have soba noodles when they are in Japan.
