RE: Acting Out

They only pseudo-intellectual is you. It has been proven by most recent discoveries in neuroscience and behavioral evolution that there is no such thing as free will. Every single decision that we make is an outcome of deterministic events that are mixed with random events. Our brain already makes a decision for us in a super tiny fraction of time before we are even aware of it. It has been proven experimentally.
The whole "free will" concept has a historical foundation that comes from ignorant and superstitious beliefs, often coming from religion. The belief that puts humans over all other living beings in the Universe and over the laws of nature. It is based on the fallacious, arrogant idea that human being is the only thing in the Universe that is not conditioned by the environment and can arrive at decisions regardless of environmental influence. We do not choose anything. There is no free will. Every single action that we take (or the illusion of "choice") is based upon our previous experiences (intellectual, emotional, genetic makeup, etc) and current environmental/physiological factors). The brain makes a decision for us automatically. We may think that w choose to like this type of man/woman, book, or this color but it is an illusion. This has been already chosen automatically by our brain before we are aware of the decision.
Understanding that there is no free will gives us a humble and compassionate understanding of human behavior and human nature. We stop judging people so aggressively.
Of course, it does not mean that we should, for example, release sociopaths from jails and should not prosecute them. We have a right to defend ourselves against such behavior and isolate people who are so cognitively damaged that are being any therapy and will only keep harming others. But a more important an effective thing to do to prevent certain behavior (that is objectively and scientifically considered abhorrent) is to change social conditions that sustain and perpetuate such behavior. Instead of a neverending patchwork of putting people in jail.

But it is obviously hard to grasp for a conspiracy theory freak who is so scientifically illiterate.
